if it's the axle-backs, you're fine. Providenceleaf/mark has them.. he actually removed the resonator to make his louder.

Only annoying at low at RPMs, other than that, they are smooth sailing.

You don't hear them in the higher RPMs... they sound best in the low RPMs IMO, but not when you're cruising on the highway.... more like when you're zipping around a parking lot.

I hate pulling into the parking garage, with the car at low RPM going up the ramp, and the sound echoing off all of the parking structure. Everyone who is within a 3 or 4 block radius can hear me climb all 7 stories to the top of the garage.

you can barely hear the axle back at all with stock resonators. its not loud or anoying at all. I had to remove the resonators to get some actual sound out of mine

There's droning around 2,000 to 2,500 rpm, but other than that, and at full throttle, it's only a little louder than stock.

Hmm - isn't that right in the middle of highway speeds?

Its not that loud to some it may be but thats what the quiet tip inserts are for. There is no way around the droan. No exhaust setup nothing. Thats why i recomend the comptech. atleast you have teh flexability to change it.

I'll have to check what rpms I'm turning at highway speeds on my '99 4 speed. I don't notice any droning on the highway. I notice it most when climbing a hill at 45 - 50 mph. When I first had the Comptech Axlebacks installed about 1 year ago, the droning bothered me and I bought the quiet tips. I installed them for a weekend, took 'em out and have not reinstalled them.

The Comptechs are hardly noticeable. I'm not sure about what droning some of you are talking about. It wasn't much different from stock. At first I was thinking "I spent $500+ for this?!?!"

Then, I was inspired by a video clip that fsttyms1 posted a while back. I took off the larger resonator, and...oooo...nice sounds!

I have just the axel back, and it annoys me sometimes.

Maybe I am just too old?

Age has nothing to do with it dude!

I'll be old and gray and still loving the growl of an engine and exhaust.

Speaking of the catback. Found a used CT on ebay for 300. Only one person bid on it and 4 more days left. Also, Used comptech headers for like 50 dollars. There's 8 more days on the headers...i'm pretty sure it'll go up. I call dibs...lol

CT headers for $50, I would question that one for a scam.
If you get it, congrats

I was just referring to the old adage, "If it's too loud, than you're too old."

Hey Torez, next time let me know if you need some parts. I have a lot of Comptech products in stock for your vehicle, and I had some axlebacks here. And I'm only a state away from you. I'm in CT.

I have a catback Comptech on my TL-S. It's a nice growl at idle and really low rpms but it's relatively loud when loaded and it drones at highway speeds.
