Cold Air Intake For a '99

Was wondering if there was a company who made the cold air intake for the 1999 tl. I was having trouble finding one. Also what is the best website for aftermarket parts for my 99 tl!

Thanks for the input!
Mike

Any intake for a 99-03 non-Type-S will work.

99 air intake

Well I took out the factory paper one for a ride down the street and 30mins later the light came on I put the filter back in and a day later and the light went back off I can only guess there is an air mass sensor that fowled that. wouldnt a cold air intake interupt that?
Well thanks for all the advice!!

Are you serious? They all have filters. Why would you drive without an air filter?

having no filter at all is not only not good for your engine, it would definatley throw a code because of the drastic change of airflow.

haha thats the most crazy thing to do lol taking off an air filter?????

if you ever buy an aem cold air intake or any other cold air intake, don't forget to unplug the battery so the engine light wont come on, after u install the cold air intake just plug back, and i don't think you would have problem with that light.

So thanks for all the advice, and yes I did know the non-filter deal is bad just a short run down the street. So the new question is which one gets the most Hp gain?

Again thanks for all the advice!!!

What?! You serious? The worst thing to do driving without a filter.

Like mentioned above....Comptech, AEM, Injen, or attempt to make your own.

You trace both hoses back and then put a hose or use existing hose and hook the two sources together.

^ nope you hook the two hoses together that way it can still flow, so to bassforblury just get one that says its for the 00-03 because they just didnt make one to pass that radiator part, but it fits perfect you just have to connect those two hoses

I got my AEM V2 from TireRack.com for '00 TL. It has the extra wires for relocating the air flow sensor from the engine to the intake.

No, you do not hook them together. They both originate under the throttle body. You remove Line 1 completely and plug the end (that plugged into the air filter radiator) of Line 2 where Line 1 originated.

I would say that it most likely acts as a mini intercooler hahaha! As for removing the resonator, that would be one of the best mods you could do if you dont plan to buy a CAI. I removed my resonator 9 months ago and I noticed a big difference in air flow, power, smoother idling etc. Anyone here will tell you that its a must do for your TL, and it sounds very aggressive. I haven't heard of anyone screwing anything up. Its actually better for your car. Search the "DIY" thread for all your mods.
