Ceramic Header Coating

I know this should probably be in the Performance Parts & Mods Section but I figured it wouldn't get very many hits there. I am wondering if people have the headers coated (Jethot, HPC) and if they think it was worth it. I've got CT headers and I am thinking of sending them in. I also haven't decided which company to go with. There are quite a few out there now and the cheapest I've found was $175 from afipowder.com. What do you guys think? There haven't been very many posts on this in the past, maybe a handful.

if you're trying to get the most power out of the headers... then i would say go for it. theres maybe a handful of people on here that have done it and i think it showed like 3% increase in gains.

I'm not really expecting to much of a gain. I was starting to get a little discoloration in the headers and didn't like the way it looked so this helps with that as well. I will do a dyno after just to see if there are any improvements. I know that's a hard one to pin point since my last dyno was about 6 months ago, but I'll give it a shot and see what happens.

i have to disagree with extremetls on this one. ceramic coating probably won't net any gains for cars like ours. once you start talking big blocks with header temperatures upwards of 1000 degrees then you'll see gains from the gas scavenging but i really don't think you'll see it on ours. i could be wrong though, but i haven't seen anything to the contrary. i'll flip back through some old posts later today and check.

Also may want to check with comptech. Alot of header companies dont want them wrapped or coated. It may cuase future issues with the headers.
