So ive been hearing around town, does a CAI increase gas milage by 2-3 miles, or it doesnt do jack to your MPG?

some will tell you yes .. some will tell you no. from what i know.. when you first install your CAI, it takes a few trips in order for the ecu to get used to it. after your ecu gets used to it, your gas mileage should improve by a bit?

Decrease MPG.
Souljah's theory:
1) Love sound
2) WOT all the time
3) Use more gas

I agree Souljah. After I installed my SRI, I've been stepping on the gas a lot harder just for fun and of course to hear the sound.

maybe because i'm older and more conservative behind the wheel, when i installed my injen cai (when i had it) i noticed an easy 30-40 more miles per tank than before.

^same here, if you don't push it, it will improve mpg, but if like some people push it for the sound, then no it will not improve anything but sound

im young and agressive so when i got my SRI my mileage went down.

but then i converted it to a CAI and calmed down a little, thus my mileage went up.

i miss the SRI but i know the CAI is better for the car. i think the gas mileage gains are subjective.

as outside air temps are starting to drop now this time of year (depending on where you live) i'd think a cai and sri would prob get almost the same gains
