CAI Install: Did I Mess It Up?
on my '03 type-s, when installing my aem intake, in order to get enough clearance i needed the filter to go further onto the pipe. so for me to do this I had to cut what looked like a seal on the inner plastic piece of the filter, as that part stuck out a little bit more than the rest of the plastic at the top. will cutting the mentioned part mess up performance at all?

TL = Tranny Lubrication
Reducing the pipe length at front end (closest to the bumper) would not cause any issues, I have a the fog light assembly in place and didn't need to cut anything though....

No I didn't need to cut the pipe, on the aem filter inside the plastic top portion that has the clamp on the outside there is a seal almost that pretrudes out preventing the tube from going too far in the filter. I trimed that seal inside to allow the tube to go further into the filter so I would be able to make clearance.
