will a 01-03 type-s CAI fit on a 00 non type-s? please let me know, thanks ahead of time.

 

no, type s models have VSA and has a second throttle body. if you were to order that intake, it would be too short.

if you can hold out till august or so, i'll sell you mine, won't need it for much longer....

just make sure its not a type-s intake for you base model.

i think the type-s also has a larger diameter pipe, so it wont fit your TL base model.

 

there is an 01 CL type s. I think that's where he's getting the 01 part.

i'll take a pic later. I'll prob let it go for like $175 or so. I bought it back in march, so it's still relatively new. but it stays on the car till i do the swap.

VSA is vehicle stability assist. not sure everything it does, but it's like TCS for what we have but more advanced. you have your throttle body, then you have a pipe that goes out to the VSA throttle body, thus making the distance longer, and only needing shorter intake. I think doing the welding stuff would be kind of ghetto. the prices should be about the same.

shouldn't matter. most CAI's have a rubber tubing that connects to the TB and the intake and you clamp them down. my intake is specifically for the 03 CL Type S 6MT (no VSA) and it fits fine
