Best Suspension and struts?

So I have looked all over the web to find out what is the Best Suspension and struts for my 99 Acura TL 3.2. I have read about Koni, Tokico, KYB and many others. As usual the maker brags about the product. I would like to hear from you guys and girls to see if anyone here has install Struts/shocks and is happy with the ride they have.

Thanks.

Are you just looking to get a replacement for your shocks? Or are you looking to lower the vehicle? What are your goals? What kind of ride do you want?

The best would most likely be Bilstien shocks. As for springs i would say H&R

ill tell you how the illumina's do with the pro kit. i think it should be a great ride because its not too low and the shocks are adjustable. but i do want to get the h&r. if i get the pro kit and it doesnt drop it low enough ill probably get rid of it.

Clarify

I am not looking to lower the car just to replace the OEM shocks. They have been on the vehicle for the last 50,000 miles. So I guess I am looking for the same smooth ride that the OEM shocks gave me. (without having to pay the high price of OEM parts.) Also I have change the OEM rims with 17x7 wheels and 45 Tires. Thinking of going to 55. Plus I have just paid off the car(all Mine )so I would like to get at least a year of use out of it before I trade it in on a RL. Just looking to get more bang for my $$$$$$.

Thanks

Just go with KYB GR2's if you want an inexpensive shock with similar ride to the OEM shock.

I'm running on KYB Gr2 and H&R Sports springs, even with the drop the ride quality is still You might wanna look some OE from H&R the drop is so minimal .75 versus the gain in handling.

Anyone with that set up to back it up?

Now I am curious as well. Is there a way to replace the shocks to level out the 03 TL-P? I like the smooth ride but I am curious on changing my shocks to stiffer ones. WIthout lowing springs.

The TL is level. Its just the front arches are higher cut out than the rears. Measure the lift points on level ground. the car sits level.

Kris, I have to tell this to practically 50% of my customers. They are always saying that they want the car to sit level. I always have to explain the car is level and the front fenders just have higher curves and the rear quarter has lower curves/cuts/arches ... w/e you wanna call it.

Yep. Go park in a parking lot take a few steps back squat down and look. the rocker will be level and you will see that the front arch is higher than the rear

Anyone use KYB GR2's with lowering springs (H&R OE's or sports)? Does it shorten the life of the shock and compromise ride quality, as it would with the OEM shocks?

Thanks for the info.

welcome aboard.

get the kyb gr-2. use the search and you will see lots of insight about them. its a little tighter then stock but not like perf shocks. seems like exactly what you are looking for. i have 50k on my 03 mine are fine. since you have a 99, might be a good idea to change them. good luck
