I recommend H&R Springs for you. it'll give you an even drop all the way around.. Retail value's around $400, you can get them on ebay for less than $250 .. this is with shipping included.

Don't go for the H-Teins.. Although they're good, they're not compatible for your car, it'll make yours uneven since it's an '03 type s..

H&R's the way to go!

I bought the Comptech lowering springs for my 03 TL-S, gonna install them in 1 month or so (just waiting for work to slow down... )

Any impressions, Comptech vs H&R?

Is it okay just to get lowering springs? Aftermarket springs with stock shocks okay? Heard the shocks can blow real easy. 2002 TLS thinking about the comptech sport springs. thanks

H&R is the best springs available

but i would go for coilovers instead, it makes a huge difference

After talking with the tech dept ar Comptech I went with their springs. Within two days the springs settled and rode exactly like the factory ones did. I have had springs in other cars in the past and the ride was never as smooth as the factory ride... untill now. I like to look and the ride, not to mention Comptech's quality.

I agree with what most have said. H&R sports is the way to go!.

I would stay away from TEIN H-techs. I just recently had them put in and the drop is really uneven. Gap is much larger in the front than in the back. Many type-S owners have had this problem for some reason.

If you want a dramatic drop then go for the Eibachs, TEIN S, or Comptechs.

If you have the dollars to spend get TEIN SS coilovers.

Do a search and read as much as you can. If I did I wouldn't have installed the H-techs. Now I'll be installing H&R Sports. You don't want to do this more than once if you don't have to. Good luck.

Escept for all the Comptech springs that rusted and broke on every one.

H&R is the best if your running just a spring set up.

friggin comptechs. 3 out of 4 of mine were broken last summer and they refused to help me. my H&Rs are nice, but i don't think they handle as well as the comptechs did. but i don't think i'll ever buy comptech springs or swaybars again (my comptech swaybar snapped in half last year too). i'm going with eibach from now on.

It's a shame you didn't ask us first. Could have saved you some $$$.

The new Comptech springs are simply the Eibach pro-kit relabeled and re-priced for Comptech. the pro-kit is cheaper.

after reading a lot on here, and taking measurements of my tl-s, since i have amps and subs that sag the rear already, i'm gonna save up and go with a bilstein/eibach pro-kit setup. It should even the car out all around taking into account the subs/amps in the trunk saging the rear already

Well... I had bought Comptech springs from Smitty last year

About to install them in mid-May, with the Koni Adjustable shocks (which I also got off Smitty)

I will let you know the results

Is that because they are less likely to require a camber kit when compared to Eibach and Tein?

And why did Comptech outsource to Eibach after their own springs failed? Why not H&R or Tein?

Do the H-teins sag only on the TL-S or on all Tls?

It looks like the H-techs only sag on a type-S. I can't explain as to why. No one has been able to explain this. It seems everyone who has had problems with the H-techs own a type-S, where everyone who loves them because it evens the car out all the way around has a TL-P. Why?...Like I said...no one knows. I couldn't get a straight answer out of TEIN when I called them on it. Here is a link to the thread I posted, and there are links to others with the same issues in the thread. Good luck!

I have H&R Sport and it is GREAT but..............................

Coilovers all way in my opinion. (i'm learning the hard way for not going with Coilovers in the first place.)

the freedom of adjustment and stiffness

with coilovers you can adjust the ride height and ride firmness to ensure perfect ride and handling with any given situation. with springs you are essentially lowering your ride this will improve the handling but youd alos need some shocks to go with that. if ur looking to just lower ur whip then go with the springs....if ur serious about performance say track days or what not maybe coilovers would be a better choice for you. hope that helped.

Can I just lower using H&R Sport springs on a '03 NONTYPE S TL without upgrading the shocks? I want to lower the car but keep the stock shocks for maximum comfort.

stock shocks with H&R sport springs are veryyy smooth for a lowered car. its very close to stock ride with much better handling. the only downside is over large bumps (like speed bumps) u'll feel it hit a little bit harder, especially in the rear.

I've got H&R Sport with Tokico blues and I have no complaints. Although I will say, I wish I went with coilovers. Especially getting springs and shocks, for that cost I should have just gone with some coilovers, but my springs were the first mod I did and I didn't know much about modding then. Not that I know much now, but I know a lot more than I did back then.
