Best Exhaust System Acura TL 2003?

Im looking to upgrade from my stock exhaust to something much better for performance and fuel efficiency. I am not at all concerned about having a loud sound, but Im much more concerned about power gains. what are the best brands and styles for the money? are there any other necessary or suggested upgrades along with the exhaust? thanks in advance for the help.

ATLP

or custom.

Headers will give much more gains as well.

Believe my you WILL be concerned about loud sound. The drone that these motors can make with an exhaust is very bad. Dont be concerned about power, because none really produce much power. If you want the best power maker you will have to pay to play. They arent cheap. ATLP.

Also id suggest using the search button a little, all your questions have been answered before and will give you all the info you are looking for.

That is correct, but it's also $1000. That is usually a relatively inefficient way to spend money if looking more for gains, as the OP is.

You get what you pay for.. When i do my j32 and 6 speed swap I'll be getting this exhaust. Hopefully they'll have a group buy by then.

Key word "can"

If you do not want drone get the Tanabe Medallion Touring exhaust.

http://store.excelerateperformance.c.../i-292002.aspx

If you want more power get the DC Sports Headers, now made with T409 stainless steel and then ceramic coated:

go with the atlp, i heard it and rode in the car with it in it, and it is the best. but you gotta pay $ for the best. tanabe is good and apexi, but if your looking to save some money, ive been told to go custom.

Do they still sell the ATLP?? I just saw a thread that was posted a few years ago but they were talking like it was going to be cancelled or something.. idk. Is the tsudo exhaust loud? I think its about half the price of the ATLP

I deleted my mid and went with a glasspack setup you would find on "hotrod/older car/older truck" and it makes the tl sound so sick, doesnt sound like a honda at all and the drone is not there either, which when i had tsudo axel backs with mid delete the drone was horrible, when taking off from a stop its a little loud but then quites down, when you step on it sounds awesome

Im interested in doing this setup, i drive an 03 TL so its not an S, that shouldnt effect the droning would it? and what does it do performance wise?

I dont have vids of my old tsudos, doing the mid muffler delete made the tsudos have a lot of drone inside the car, outside it wasnt to loud.

Are cars really dont get any performance from the exhaust unless you swap in some new headers

no it is not a bolt on system, maybe i could stop having a few fabbed up to be bolt on once my brother gets back from hawaii and he gets his welder if people would be interested. but for now
its and exhaust/muffler system, our tl's run a really good piping all the way back from the cat, all that needs to be replaced is stock mufflers, you will notice minimal gains but thats how exhaust is unless you get headers.

headers are always the biggest gains. catbacks are a huge waste of money. all you have to do is have new mufflers put on.

I love my glasspacks, they are not to loud when driving normal but when accelerating from a dead stop they are a little loud but sound amazing, they dont sound like a civic or integ, they sound like sti or evo. but i have my mid muffler deleted also and left my resonator.

If you have more questions let me know

So all you really replaced are the rear mufflers with glasspacks?
pics would also help on how you did this setup!

The Tsudos aren't even close to loud, I'm pretty disappointed. Even with all the windows down and the sunroof open I can hear my intake over them. I find myself being hard on the pedal just so I can kind of hear them....ghey.

Yeah, I suppose sound clips from inside the car would have helped rather than watching everyone's clips from the exterior. Also a few people said they were loud while other said they were quiet, leading me to believe that they had an obvious tone that wasn't too overbearing. Obviously those people must have no idea what loud is! I'm used to driving through a parking lot and setting off car alarms.

The best exhaust for our cars would be the ATLP.

however the best bang for buck would be the tsudo axel-back with custom 2.5" MANDREL BENT piping. there are other options, but IMO these are the top 2 to consider

What makes the ATLP so much better than the Tanabe? I've seen a few rusted, crooked ATLP exhausts and no substantial reason why it's better than an exhaust made by a very reputable company like Tanabe. From what I see IMO it's a waste of money.

lets be realistic, ANY company selling a catback system for our cars are a waste of money and EVERYONE knows it except for the people that were stupid enough to get sold into buying one,

The tl already runs 2.5 in piping from the cat to the y-pipe.

HMMM feel that 1 bhp, for way to much money, good job
