Best brake pads

Whats up TLr's, I bought my car back in 11/05....looking to do my first brake job, and possibly put new rotors or shave down the ones that are on there already. Which basic brake pads should I go with? Does it matter if there factory rotors or aftermarket? Do they have to be Acura brake pads?? I have a 99 TL w/90,000 miles........

The stock rotors have a tendency to warp and therefore you feel a vibration when braking. So more than likely your rotors have already been replaced once and you may have still material left but if they warp you have to do the job over again and replace the pads too. If you are going to just turn/shave the stock rotors just go with the OEM pads or any ceramic pad. Do not buy semi-metallic pads or you will get a squealing sound and lots of brake dust.

OR

You can go aftermarket. There are a few options: ROTORA, Power Slot, Brembo, etc. I personally and professionally recommend ROTORA slotted rotors and ROTORA H2 ceramic pads.

Cool guys, thanks alot, one last question, when I take my tire off to save time,
what measurement as far as thickness on the rotor should I look for so I don't waste my time taking to a store to get shaved and then having them tell me theres not enough meat on the rotor and then I have to buy new ones anyway. I just want to be able to make that decision in my driveway myself.....

You need a micrometer to test thickness.
