i dont know how good the exhaust is on the 2nd gen but sometimes there isnt much to be gained by going cat back if the pipe is already wide enough. i know on the new ford mustang gt's Flowmaster just replaced the mufflers to get the HP gains, adding anything bigger to the rest of the exhaust did nothing to improve performance.

yea i got axle backs, just for sound really. looks a bit better. its a little bit cheaper than the cat back, easier to put on (diy). if you want more sound you can always spend the 30 bucks to take the stock resonators out and put an 18 inch resonator and its pretty much cat back. just missing the shiny parts which will get destroyed in a winter.

i didn't do it yet. but you would have to buy the resonator wich is like 50 bucks give or take. and to get it done is like 30 bucks. i plan on doing this in the summer.
personally idk if i will ever do it. im debating.

do some research into the type of resonator you are going to buy. there are a lot on the market that really dont do anything for performance or even sound. often you will find a resonator, put install it and then get a really harsh sound coming from the exhaust. magnaflow makes a good resonator in a variety of different lenghts. the best thing to do is have the exhaust shop weld flanges onto your stock pipe and then install flanges on your oem resonator, the new resonator and even straight exhaust pipe so you have some options and are not stuck with one design. its not that much more and most shops will be happy to do it.
