Anyone done any performance mods??

Finally made an account, I have read through many of the post and forms on here and couldn't really find any performance mods that were reasonable or that would be the normal on other vehicles. Maybe it's just me but it doesn't seem like people mod these cars very much.

I've had my 2000 TL for awhile now and wanted to make it nicer and kinda havent been able to find much on these cars but here's what I've done.
-18x8 enkei wheels with new tires cant remember the size
-20 mm wheel spacers
-hid lows with led highs, led reverse and brake lights. Blue interior lighting
-resenator delete on stock air box
-Manzo headers with cat delete straight pipe to flowmaster muffler single in dual out to 4 inch tips 2.5 inch pipe from headers back
-egr delete, made my own blocker plate
-double din aftermarket radio with some phoenix gold speakers

And that's about it, I know there has to be other people that have moded out there car and souped up the engine a little but I was a little lost on what to do next or what to look at for a next mod. Any help would be awesome if youd chime in with information. I am mainly looking at performance/ aesthetic mods but any mods yall have done would help thank you!

Hi Dallas, there were probably a lot of people who modded their TL's when they were new back in the day...and there may be a few who still do.

Did you try checking old threads in performance & modifications OR racing & competition?

May be some stuff there worth looking at.

currently, with the age of our cars, I feel a lot of members are focused on keeping it running like new which I can attest will get many compliments if done well

A relatively simple mod would be to drop in a J35 (I think the J35A3 is the correct drop in engine for our car).

Yeah I've read through quite a few of old threads never seen the racing and competition forum tho!! I'm in the middle of putting a new radiator in mine right now got a full aluminum polished radiator that should look a little better than the old plastic one that was cracked. But I was just trying to get a few new idea from people here and there but thank you for replying and yeah I know these cars are almost 20 years old now but i think they are still pretty cool cars.

I mean there is no replacement for displacement but I'm not looking to do an engine swap for a gain of only 50hp but that's a good idea

sorry to be the bearer of bad news; this platform is one of the hardest to make power from..
an engine swap + 6MT swap will provide the best bang for the buck..

used engines go for ~$650.. + install...a grand for 50hp is GREAT!!!!!!!! in terms of value...
otherwise you're looking to spend a few grand for boltons that might or might not make 30hp.

how much were the headers and how much power did they make???

As has been stated by others, unless you're inclined to dump thousands into your car, the engine swap is pretty much the cheapest and most reliable option you have.

I know that an engine swap to the 3.5 would make more power and the manual trans would last longer and take more of a beating but my motor and trans are just fine and when they do break or go out I might look into a swap but until then I'm not going to do so but I do see where your coming from and appreciate the input.
And I paid about 100 bucks give or take for the headers even tho they have a bad name they seem well made and arnt warped or anything welds look good and strong to me. And I havent dyno it or anything but I would say they added 10ish HP I mean nothing to write home about but it made the car really come alive at higher rpm and sound pretty good to me.
