If you had a car with DRL (Daytime Running Lights) maybe yellow would work but I don't think a 2nd Gen TL would look that great with yellow low beams.
Yes, it would be different and go along with the Le Mans type theme. IMO, go with 2500-3000k (yellow) fog lights and then use whatever headlight bulbs you like. That's what I did with my setup and it turned out really well.
I have seen white, blue, purple, green, pink, and yes even yellow. So just do what you think YOU will like, after all YOU will be driving your car and YOU should be happy with it.
