AEM Tru-Power Pulleys

I found these parts that seem to change the ratio of the pulleys to get more hp to the wheels but really have no idea what they do?

-Can someone explain to me what AEM Tru-Power Pulleys do? Are they really worth it? DO THE SCREW UP A NICE STOCK CAR? Is it easy power??

btw if they are good i want to put them on 00' TL-p

thanks

Get UR crank pulley if you want power gains. Anything else is a waste of money. UR or Unorthodox Racing makes perfect pulleys that will not effect drivability at all, they are quality made and reliable. $200.00 for the crank pulley and you are all set. The alt. and PS pulley do nothing for performance.

^good advice. I would say the same.

What a lightweight aftermarket pulley does is free up hp by making it easy for the crank to spin. The stock crank pulley is cast iron and weighs about 8 pounds. It's a beast. A UR aluminum pulley weighs about 2 pounds or less. It will increase throttle response. That's the main appeal of one.

I got one, and noticed soon after. Great buy if you ask me.

I found those numbers from another member who installed his a while back and apparently weighed them. I'll tell you one thing, the UR pulley weighs nowhere near 7 pounds. It's so ridiculously light.

+1 When I had my UR pulley out I wanted to see how much it weighed. I didnt have the stock pulley to compare so when I got it installed and got my stock pulley back.... what a difference. I felt like i was picking up something 10 pounds heavier.

UR pulley is a good investment in my eyes.

Dont waste your money on the AEM pulleys. They wont give you any power. The only pulley you need is the Crank pulley, Get the UR or Bomz.

The UR crank pulley is your best bet. The accessory pulleys don't add much hp. The gains are in the crank.

We have both the underdrive and stock diameter pulley available for the 2nd gen CL/TL.

Unless you have a Giant stereo get the underdrive pulley.

The AEM pulleys have been dyno proven to produce little to no gains. UR pulleys are battle tested and show noticeable gains throughout the entire RPM band. The crank pulley is all you need to produce more power. The PS and ALT pulleys don't add any HP and aren't really necessary. The UR crank pulley is very safe. I've had mine for at least 80k miles and my car runs perfect. Over 200k on the original motor right now. I know a lot of forum members have UR pulleys and have for years without any issue.

AEM doesnt sell the crank pulley, its just the alternator and power steering pulley which are light already, they are just for show since they sell different colors

The crank pulley is the only one that does anything.. All the rest are for looks.
