AEM FIC / Fuel-Ignition Controller

Did a quick search but nothing interesting turned up. I might have missed it though.

Anyone looked into the AEM FIC for tuning or know much about it? Seems pretty solid in theory. Discuss

Works well, I have several J series vehicles using them now without issues including a J36 powered 7th gen AV6 that is producing 302WHP and 280WTQ, they only drawback I have found for the unit is that it will only retard timing, not advance. Other than that it is a great bang for the buck especially if teamed with a UGEO gauge which can be hooked into the FIC to provide AFR as part of the datalog......

About time you showed up Paul. Stick around more

I just ask because I'm going to need somethign to tune the engine when I'm done with it. It's basically the same as Jcharged - 11:1 J35A4 w/ CL-S heads and CL-S 6mt. I'll be running it off a TL-P ECU most likely, so would you recommend using the FIC over E-manage for this? Also, would I need to use an aftermarket FPR?

FIC is cheaper and works for me at least, just installed another one today with no issues including changing out the stock injectors with RDX injectors....

Just a fuel and timing controller, it intercepts PCM/ECU injector and coil signals and modifies them. Doesn't actually mess with the ECU itself IIRC

Do you guys know if our car's ECU override's the AEM FIC? I know it overrided my emanage blue so I kept having to pull my battery to get it to run at an optimal level.
