Acetate on fogs?
Acetate on fogs?
I've seen a few posts of people who have modified their fogs with yellow acetate over their fog lights as the casing holds it on.
Pretty smart idea - cheap DIY and not permanent either...anyone tried this with different colors like shades of blue or silver?? If so, post pix please!

I'm really just looking for a nice aesthetic that I don't see everyone else with. I'm gonna try it this weekend, and if I get a chance i'll leave some feedback and maybe post some pics.
Thanks for your
tho, it's always appreciated - you all know a ton about these cars and that's why I keep coming back here. This is the best site. Thanks for the input.
Well, I just put the blue plastic on...I think it looks really great during the day with the lights off. As for the night, the light comes through with a blue tint, but it's nothing too crazy from the hyperwhite that was on there already.
I might put the yellow on - I bought some yellow sheets too, but as for now, I'm sticking with the blue. Besides, it only takes about 10 minutes to switch it up. Who knows.

Just trace your fog light bracket and trim a little to fit. Takes 10 minutes.
I've got the blue on their now, but I'm not too sure with the legality of the blue light my fogs now emit. Luckily, the pack also comes with yellow, so next weekend I'm probably going to replace them with the yellow ones to see how that looks, knowing that its legal for sure.
BTW, PenancE your front grille looks sweet. Did you get that done professionally? How much did it cost? I was thinkin about just paying the money and having the chrome painted the color of the car by a body shop instead of screwing it up myself and ending up paying more to buy another grille from ebay or something. Any suggestions?
well when i bought the car, they painted it cuz the whole car needed a paint job. i would suggest trying to buy the color of ur car paint, and DIY, much easier, and cheaper..but if ur not good with spray paint and get mad runs, then take it to a shopt o use a spray gun.
thx for th einfo as well

I'll probably end up just getting the grille done by a body shop, even if it's a hundred bucks or something...that way I can be sure it'll look nice. When it comes to painting exterior, I have no idea what I'm doing, nor do I have the time to screw it up and end up paying more to get it fixed...unless I can find a cheap one on ebay to experiment with - that's always a possibility.
As for the fog lights, I really like the way they look with the light blue acetate I put over the lens during the day - it's just a few shades lighter than the APB body color. I might switch to yellow acetate this weekend tho, even though I don't really like the way it'll look against the APB during the day, but at night its actually legal and looks better than not putting a cover over it at all. I just don't wanna get pulled over with the bright bluish fogs I got going on right now...damn cops.
I was reading posts about people putting glue/adhesives on these to make them stick to their bulbs or whatever
or people spending 30 bucks online for that "rockblocker" stuff. IMO its a waste, just go to office max or an art supply store. And they stay put real secure if you cut it to fit with some scissors and just put the frame back over the lens (sandwiching the acetate between the two). This was probably the easiest mod I've ever done.
