99-01 Comptech Icebox Install ?

I got rid of my AEM V2 for the icebox, however while installing the ice box, I cannot properly secure the top of the lid down b/c it hits the back of the headlight, anyone know of a remedy for this? With the lid only being secured by one screw. Any guys out there with the icebox on there 99-01 please help!

The first Icebox I bought for my '99 had a half moon shaped hole on the front of the top to clear the headlight. The hole was not big enough, I had to square off the bottom of the hole. I bought a replacement top which didn't have hole at all, so I had to make my own.

Sorry, no pics, but why wouldn't you want to modify the box, that's what Comptech did.

Click Here to see modification. I had to cut out the lower left hand corner of the stock opening to get it to fit. I got a new top because the paint started to peel off my first one despite sanding and priming before spraying on the color coat and clear coat.

Just an FYI, I think you may have gotten an icebox thats not for a 99-01 TL. It should fit with no modification..

The first top I had;

1. Came with a hole in it.
2. Would not fit without enlarging the hole.

The second top did not have a hole in it and my guess is it was not for a '99.

there was no way this was fitting on unless the top of the box was modified which i did, or if the black cap on the backside of the headlight came off.
