4 speed vs 5 speed

I have a 99 tl and was wondering if both stock tl the 5 speed would pull harder and be ahead in a race. only non-type s. I pulled up to a 4.0L ford X that has intake and shift kit I had only intake short ram we raced and when I was reaching around 5000 rpm in third he was reeling me in. Im kinde tired of every time I pull up to a car its all ways that third gear that is so long. Does the TL have a speed limiter?

Im thinking of installing a 100 shot of nitrous maybe that woul help my third and fourth gear. the v6 3.2L should handle the 100 shot right?

the tl doesnt have a speed limiter if im not mistaken. but it does have a rev limiter meaning you cant go to far past redline. im not sure exsatcly when the limiter kicks in maybee someone else can chime in with the exsact rpms. the top speed is around 149 but not limited by speed.most people seem to say gate shifting gives you a better edge than SS mode if you do it correctly.

if you don't want to be friends with your car for much longer, sure go ahead and get 100 shot of NO2. Just don't expect it to last.

My dealer said the trans failure is because their isn't enough oil going to 3rd gear so thats why its failing. But when I got my new engine they told that they put in extra tube to the 3rd gear so more oil goes and till now my car didn't give me trans problem.
