2G Upgrades

Hi All, I am new to AcuraZine, currently I am considering on picking up a 2003 Acura TL Type S. And I wanted to ask some questions. So, to start off, I have noticed that some parts compared to the 3G/2004 Acura TL's are different. IE Exausts, S/C Kits, T/C Kits and J-Pipe ETC.

My first concern/question is, Do they make any PCDs? or Upgraded J-Pipe like the 3G TL's? Like how RV6 makes a V3 J-Pipe and PCD for the 3G anything like that for the 2G's?

2nd is the Exhaust I plan on doing a Stage 3/4. Either with a Dynomax Resonator or just a MMD. My Question is which Muffler for the 2G's Sounds Close to the Greddy Evo 2's?

3rd is, When I was searching Excelerate Performance I read that the AEM V2's dont bolt on to the Type-S? So inturn which would be a best alternative a Injen? or a AEM CIA or a Short Ram?

4th is the Flywheel. I plan on upgrading the Flywheel, Using a Stock Diameter UR Crank Pulley. I just wanted to know if this was done on any of yours Yet? How does it effect the Tranny since 2G have a engaging clutch problem? Replace the Clutches? Clucthmasters, Centerforce etc?

Thanks Guys, I appreciate all they help.

welcome to the forum

the v2's don't work on the type-s because of the VSA throttle body. it's too long to fit. but i believe there is an AEM version that will fit the type s. injen makes a good setup too.

i don't know if you know, but the second generation tl's do not have manual transmission (unless someone did the swap) so therefore there is no flywheel.

Ah, Its a Automatic I just checked so no flywheel it a Auto. So I guess that means upgrading the clutch, Im thinking maybe a Stage 3? Anyone have any experience with Upgraded ones?

Also AEM only makes a CIA System but from what I heard there is a Trade off, Heres the Link http://store.excelerateperformance.c...e/g-50000.aspx

^Thats what I saw on youtube, It definitely wasnt a Manual Shifted WAY TOO fast. It was a Honda Accord I believe. I just went by stages becasue that is what is listed on Excel for the SPEC Clutches and says it would fit my Acura 03 so I just assumed

one trade off with cold air intakes (CAI) is that it can suck up water and cause hydro lock. but you can install a bypass valve to fix that. i've hydrolocked before and it sucks

you can always do six speed swap, but i would reccomend you have friends help you if you don't know what you are doing. plenty have done it (i'm working on a 6speed turbo build).
