Id still get a CAI. It will flow better, and these engines need as much air as you can give them.

The INJEN CAI is the most reasonably priced CAI on the market and it's also made out of quality material.

You could get an off brand of ebay, but those won't pass smog. I have one, and I like the sound.

Found my AEM CAI on Ebay new for half the retail price, and you can check out the BM. Look over in the CL section there is a thread about a custom 4" CAI and they are using an Airaid kit that is pretty inexpensive plus they sale the kit in smaller sizes if yo don't want to go that big (3" to 3.5" is plenty with just boltons).

I currently have the drop in K&N box filter and really want to get CAI, but I'm searching eBay and find AEM or K&N filters for $220+ and there are the no name brands for $50. They have the same design... is there really a difference??

^there's no difference.
I'll even venture to say the stock intake is better.

You want a really well made tube that doesn't have many parts to it (If it is a 1 piece then the better) same size as carb or bigger.

If you can get that just stick in an AEM dry cone filter or K&N and you have your performance CAI.

If you live in Cali, then you will need a carb legal brand, which are usually the big names.
