2 tone interior?

Alright so my 01 TL has a slight rip in the drivers seat, so Im trying to get that fixed, along with the rear headliner starting to come undone and the steering wheel is startin to feel a little rough

When I get those 3 things fixed, Im thinkin of 2 toning my front seats. Ive got tan seats now, and I would make the middle black, so the outer of the seats are still tan. The guy says he would do it by taking an acidic resedue he has and restaingng it sort of to be black, will look good. anyone do this or have suggestions?

if anything, i would make the side black and leave the middle tan.

think about it, you are sitting on the middle and rubbing against it all the time. the dye is going to wear out faster than the side bolsters and rest of the seat.

True, he says the leather was originally not colored, and when new Acura had to color it, either black or tan. He says its going to look sharp and will not wear off at all

how much are you getting quoted?

i remember last year i was getting quoted $800 for front and rear dyed any color. but the whole seat, not just an insert.

The kit I was looking at was a DIY... I was quoted $2200 for the whole interior

(suede headliner, full seats with textured inserts, install new carpet from delray acura, prep and paint plastic pcs)

at a place in Brooklyn last summer..I thought that that was a bit high but a few guys at car shows I have been to have said that $3000 was the ballpark that they paid for complete interior from a QUALITY shop. They said its like a paint job...you get what you pay for.

I am renovating/adding on to my house (resuming when it warms up) so I haven't really even thought about putting that kind of money into a car right now

The guy I got quoted from is a mobil service, seems legit. He would remove part of the tan and he said he would do the middle of the front driver and passenger seats to redo them black for $250
