2.5" straight pipe to aftermarket mufflers?

Ok guys so i kinda F'ed up started messing with my exhaust. I started off by doing a rear muffler delete and replacing with 2.25" piping and that sounded pretty good actually. I put and intake and headers on and i wanted some more flow so i figured i would try out the straight pipe. That was a mistake. Way to loud and raspy for my taste. I didnt save my oem mufflers like a dumbass and i know people run straight pipe to the oem mufflers for "stage 4". My question is.. Will aftermarket highflow mufflers make it sound good? or should i go with a high flow resonator and 2 rear mufflers?? any input is appreciated. Thanks guys!

It's been done, I remember a thread about a guy w all mufflers deleted using piping from a Tanabe catback. Not sure what his exact setup ended up being in the end though.

OP check this thread

https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-cl-2001-2003-50/exhaust-mods-493556/

He used a Magnaflow dual outlet muffler but put it where the cat goes. The 18 inch muffler you got will not fit in the small space where the mid muffler is. It will have to hang lower than the stock exhaust, which is okay. Just be aware of that fact.

Your right, it will be lower, but too low like you said. I also did not delete my cat, so its straight piped from the cat back unlike that CL thread you showed me. i will post a video as i said and i will make sure to show placement and everything for all who is interested! thanks for your input

Did you ever do the custom 2.5 piping or did you stick with the 2.25? if you did the 2.5 how much was the labor for the custom piping? thanks

I would try adding a dynomax resonator or something because straight pipe to mufflers would cause a lot of drone.
