honestly it is a waste of money, 02-03 tl doesn't look much better if at all than 99-01, spend money on other mods.

why do the conversion unless you have all your other mods. i would rather have a supped up 99 then a 99 that looks like an 02-03 without the extra grunt.

i say only do the conversion if you're in an accident and insurance pays for most of the body work... that's what i'm planning to do.. im just waiting for an accident...

Question

Well on the way to work the other day I got in an accident. I damaged the front left side of the bumper, front left headlight, and the front left fender. I didn't report it to my insurance company yet, becuase I don't want my insurance premium to go up, So I plan on fixing it myself. I am looking at it as a little project.

P.S
Do you guys think it's a good idea to order the parts from a salvage yard. I will post pictures of the accident tomorrow.

you'Re gonna need a shit load of parts and some modification to existing(original) parts done.

it's gonna run you around 5 grands.

do like i did, go to the dealer and check with the part guy which parts are different between 99 and '02/03.

i recently did my conversion because my headlights were stolen and they fucked my front end up.. i dont think this is gonna be something your gonna be able to do by yourself unless your an experienced body person, the radiator support will need to be cut and lifted (i think its lifted, but regardless the radiator support will need to be cut and rewelded) in addition to that you will need:

02...
Hood
Complete Grill Assy
Fenders
Front Bumper
Headlights w/ ballasts (99-01 ballasts are shaped differently from 02-03)
Windshield sprayer system
Hood latch of modify exsisting hood latch
Fog Lights
Fog Light Harness

Thats all i can think for now but the whole conversion ran me appx $5600, insurance paid for about $5000

Hope this helps, and good luck if you decide on converting
