ZEAL coilovers.
ZEAL coilovers.
I read SoCal's post in the search function that he had to basically remove his whole coilover to adjust the ride height. He has a similar version to what I want. I believe he has the Function B6's, and I only want the B2's, in which both ride height and 6-way firmness settings is possible.
What I wanted to know is if the TL version is the same as his in the way that you have to take out the entire assembly in order to change ride height. That would suck if that was the case...every time you wanted to drop it down for a date or a night on the town, you'd have to take off all your wheels and crap! That would suck! The ZEAL's are attractive because of all the functions that come with them, but most important is the retention of stock ride quality or better. Does anyone have them installed on their TL? Maybe Snook could help me with the question about having to take the assembly out to adjust ride height...that is my main concern.
Any help is appreciated...you guys are awesome.

Well, one thing you have to keep in mind is that once you have it set to one height, you have to get a computerized 4-wheel alignment. Or else you're going to wear out your tires real fast!
I'm not to sure about the B2's but if the TL's application is similiar to mine (which I think it is), then YES, you would have to remove the whole setup to adjust the height! THAT IS THE CORRECT WAY! I guess you can adjust the spring perches to lower the car as well, but it's not recommended. Adjusting the spring perches is only for adjusting the spring tension. Plus, if you lower the car by it's spring perches, the shock will compress more, giving you a more rough ride. That's the whole reason I like the Zeals B series, cuz you can adjust the height without affecting anything else. The only drawback is to adjust the height, you need to take the whole thing out!
Initially, I've taken out the rear about 4 times to get the right height. After that, I haven't touched them.
I do love mine and I don't regret purchasing them yet!
If you plan on changing the height often, I suggest the Lowriders hydralics or airbags???
