Your TL: Pampered or Worked?

This morning I decided to see how much 30 gallon bags of garbage the trunk could hold. I figured with the trunk tray, what could it hurt to haul off garbage in the TL? This made me think - I wonder how many TL owners pamper their cars and how many actually make these sedans do dirty duties. My TL is by no means pampered, it stays outside in the weather, gets an oil change by the factory book and not at 3k mile intervals, gets handwashed twice a year and car-wash washed the rest, I've never waxed it, and gets used on rough dirt roads in some GA country counties where some people don't even want to take trucks. Yet at 60,400 miles today the paint looks great clean, the interior is in top shape, everything works, and minus some minor dents from hail recently - the car has zero cosmetic flaws. It's a Honda, and it's tougher than most of you think it is.

So here's the question..

Do most of you pamper your TLs? Or do most of you use the TL as a workhorse on a regular basis?

I would never put garbage in the car!! I wouldn't say I pamper it, but I keep it in good shape. I do with all of my cars. When I traded in my 4 year old Accord, the dealer said it looked almost as good as new.

Way pampered. The car gets washed inside and out 3 times a week and any road tar or bugs are cleaned off several times a day. I even take the seats out twice a year to vaccum under them. The porters and detail guys at our shop say its the cleanest white car they have ever seen. White only looks good when it's spotless.

The 'ole work horse takes a beating. Even so, it still performs like it did when I drove it off the lot.

Usually, I'd go offroading with the damn thing whenever I could on purpose! I do a paper route in the morning (imagine the P-R-D4-R-P-R-D4-etc... sparatic shifting I have to do for 2-3 hours every morning!), I push the thing going against other cars on I-95 and 295, and at times, I'll probably wash it once or twice a month with just a hose.. just a little spray on.. nothing more. Other than the regular maintenance checks, it's pretty much battery. On top of that, since i'm a college kid, Imagine loading all of your dorm room crap to the top of the ceiling, weighing the car down by 2-3k lbs to take on long distance trips and to hear the clanking of your suspension as you go over speedbumps and potholes half the time loading up the car like that... definitely some good times. Definitely better than the typical Ford F-150 when it comes to a luxury sedan... hahahaha

I take care of the car, but I also drive it hard. And when I was in school, it was parked outside all the time and driven through all seasons. Can't say I've ever used it as a garbage truck, though.

I pamper. My car gets a $40 minor detail job every week or so. I never stick anything in the trunk other than groceries for a short ride. I cringe at the thought that my wheels might not be reflecting the world perfectly back on itself...

i do whatever i need to do, hauling dirt or hauling ass it is all the same. I drive it hard but i pamper it with hand washes, wax and leather cleaner....but for every 10 washes, there will be a vaccume..i don't have garbage in my car or anything on the seats so it's very well kept and clean.

pampered as much as a daily driver can be, but then again i pampered all my cars, washes once a week if i can, quick wax after every wash, vaccumed, leather conditioned/cleaned, windows cleaned in and out door panels/dash pad all conditioned, wheels blackened. Then after a day is dirty again, damn NBP!!!

..teh day after I picked up my TL, the Wife took it for a run to the store. Upon her return I notice a HUGE scrape accross my drivers seat. MY LEATHER WAS PERFECT prior to this. Nothing like a purse to ruin your leather..sooo from that point on..

NO GARBAGE in the trunk..NO WIFE in the driver's seat...NO ANYTHING but Me!!!! I drive daily but the Ack is well maintained!!!

Mine gets pampered, gets washed when dust gets noticable or when the wife takes it out in the rian.
The trunk is empty and has a sheep skin blanky in it...
The car becomes a hangar queen for the winter....
Well gotta go.. doing tire rotation today...

My car is clean, there is nothing in my trunk except for my winter ice scraper, so I consider I pamper my TL.

Even as old as mine is, I pamper it. A lot of people are impressed when I tell them it has 152,000 on it, but it's all in how you treat it.
