For those who have CAI, headers, and such... what do you say when someone asks you how much horsepower you have? Do you say the HP number to the wheels, or what you think it is at the crank? Like could i say i have about 310hp? Im just curious...

 

The only way you're pushing 310 hp is if you put stickers all over your car.

Seriously, with i/h/e, I think you would be pushing ~300 hp at the crank. But why would you want to announce it? Keep your car a sleeper so you can surprised them.:wow:

 

well i figure the headers are 30, CAI is 10, and exhuast 3 at the crank... also i have pulleys which are like 5hp, no? I could be wrong... Thats where i got close to 310hp to the crank...

plus i dont care to race people... but sometimes we are talking and people ask what i did to the car and how much Horsepower i have now.. i just dont know what to say.

 

All the mods arent really additive like that, theres some overlapas well. When asked about how much HP my car ha, sI just say I have 260 stock and that as I have it I'm seeing about 290hp.

Id say you are probably seeing 300hp easy.

 

10hp from just an intake?? that doesnt sound right to me..but ne ways...if you guys get rid of the cats..wont you get more hp cuz of less restriction?
if a tl with header,cam or whatever has estimated 310hp or something.i want to run someone around my area..my car has 320 at the crank and its stock..so im guessing it'll be close..how bout it guys??

 

well no... it wont be close since the TLS is FWD and your is RWD, and you have more torque.

 

well, how much torq would a tls have with those mods?? and im talking about a race from a roll..i dont want to fry out my clutch ne more slipping it!

 

no clue... maybe 250?? Im really not sure at all.... why compare? You have a supra TT right? There is no reason to compare the TLS to that. If you wanna hear it, then fine, you can beat me no problem.

 

uh....hey i wasnt posting just to say i can beat your car cuz i have a supra..by no mean i dont think my car is superior to others...and htis is the way i see it as when it comes down to a race..you never know untill u race that car..i get intimidated/excited even when an 80's integra revs at me(lol) and plus i've seen maximas(s/c) that hangs with vettes and supras so i was just cruios..

ah ic. i chose to do it the other way. i put on 3 layers of coat before putting it on. i figure i could put them wax on more easily when they aer lying on my carpet

if im correct the headers are dyno to be 32 more hp at the wheels so about 40 at the crank no? cai gives you 5 hp (thats what i would rate it as) and pullies are minimal 1-2 just like exhaust....only way i think anyone can justify their hp is by dyno...whatever the dyno reads thats is what you have...heheh just my 2 cents

with the 02 sensor that connects directly into the cat it makes it a real pain in the ass to run a test pipe. i know a couple of people with cars other than tl's that have done it a couple different ways but just cause it works on a different car doesn't mean it will work on the tl.
