You guys need a racing/kill section...

What's up fellas? I've posted over on the CL-s forums a bit and I thought I'd come over here and post about a run I had yesterday. I saw an Acura glued to my ass and I sped up to clear traffic and let him into the right lane. Luck was with me and we caught a light.....a silver TL-s with a young guy driving it. Light goes and I dont know why but for some reason neither of us launched hard, it was one of those 'is he gonna go' type starts. Well at about 30mph I see him jump and I nailed it a split-second later and instantly started to pull on him, but not as fast as I thought I would. By 50 I had his nose to my ass and by 75 I managed to put another car on him. I would guess that I would've kept on pulling on him had we gone further, and if we would've both launched hard it would have been much worse for him. But I think all in all he did pretty good.

TL-S's are sweet looking cars, and if I could I'd trade my GTP in for one tomorrow and have the proper go-fast mods on it the next day. I love my GTP but I'm not going to try and kid myself about which is the nicer overall car, at least if I cant have the nicer car I can have the faster car. Now if I could only find a modded TL-s in the Chicago area that would like to line em up...........

It's been discussed several times but the general opinion seems to be that a racing forum causes more problems then it's worth. Generally people will post their experiences in the appropriate forum... CL-S/TL-S in here and TLs in the TL forum. We welcome members with other cars to do the same, as you did. We also like it a lot more when they're cordial like you were.

Good kill.... BTW.. how modded are you?

I got burned by a GTP a few months ago. I got a good look at his license plate - 1FSTV6. It happened to be his screen name on a GP forum, so it wasn't hard to track him down. He went either 13.6 or 13.8 at 99 with some mods.

They're quick as hell down low-midrange but start to die up top as when I shut down (around 80mph) the gap was narrowing slightly, but he was still pretty far ahead. Stupid fun, I guess.

Hahaha.. I hope so! In fact, I'm going to see if I can stop by the Honda store today after work and catch Doug to press him for some more information. I'm getting a little antsy

As for the tires.. they're still stock. In fact, it had just finished drizzling when I "raced" the GTP so that didn't help things for either of us (especially him with all that torque). My VSA was going nuts but I thought it'd be even worse with it off.

I guess I can see your point on that, I'm a veteran of many internet racing forum flame wars and I know how fast things can go down the toilet. I'm always respectful towards other peoples choices of cars, I love all cars (the only exception being cars whose name starts and ends with C). I get into the wars when people try and rip on the GTP, I will defend my car to the death!!

As for my car, I ran the 14.36 with just a pulley and CAI. I have since added the Borla exhaust and I am going up to Great Lakes Dragaway on Wednesday to hopefully get some cold weather runs in and come home with a 13.99 slip. If there are any TL/CL-s owners in here from the No IL/ So WI area you should try and go. It would be awesome to see a classy import running down the 1/4. If I have to see/hear another Civic run I'm going to puke.
