so what do you do just get Yellow Bulbs for your fogs or do they have to be special bright ones and like special company? Are they real Yellow Lights(REAL YELLOW GLASS) or is it a transpent Yellow Plastic Stuck on Normal halogen bulb?

Hmmmmm...

Now i'm trying to decide what I like better...

Yellow fogs or getting bulbs to match the headlights....

Does anyone have any other pics of yellow fogs?? Also, like 2004TL stated, are these just yellow bulbs??

Aaahh...nevermind.

I just used the old 'Search' button and found out that sixspdbrd used yellow film on the fog light lens itself.

The only thing i'm questioning is that in his sig pics, theres a pic where the fog light lens is clear

Oh well, guess I'll stick with clear bulbs...don't like the film idea

I bet its easy to stick the film its just that it will eventually cause harm to the housing and might burn wires because that film is plastic... I Dont know but I do know that somehow this aint the right way to do it..

I see quite a few posts about Fog Lights....and the color of the bulbs.
Just out of curiosity, are the Fog Lights being used for "show" or are they really used when it gets foggy outside ?

It works. You can also do the foglight mod so it will come on without having the headlights on. You can also have them on when it's cloudy. I suggest Sylvania Silverstars because they match the headlights and it's brighter than stock.

Okay....I'm really confused now.
Are we going for the look when the fogs are "On" or "Off" ?
With the film, the lens will look yellow ALL the time, whether the lights are on or off.
If you are using a yellow bulb, the lens and reflector will be clear and will only turn yellow when the lights are turned on.

This question is for SilverUA5 since you live in SF:

I suggest Sylvania Silverstars because they match the headlights and it's brighter than stock.

How do the Super Whites perform in fog as thick as Peasoup ?
I'm not refering to the misty things that allows you to see about 1/4 mile.
I'm more interested in fog that you get in San Joaquin /Sacramento Valley....the really bad ones will visibility up to 20 feet.
I know the yellow lights work. What happens when you turn the Silverstars on? Do they work better, or do you just get a bright wall of light, just as if you have your high beams on ??

Funny thing is, since I bought my TL, I haven't seen heavy fog at all in the city. Foglights are more of a spread type beam, it enables you to see the reflectors better on the road. The Silverstars are brighter and whiter compare to the stock, and the foglight bulbs on the TL are basically lowbeams on regular cars, but the reflectors on the back makes them have a wider beam. If your visiblity is limited to 20 feet, I don't know if any foglights in this world will help. Best thing to do in that situation is to pull over. Do you guys have foggy days in FL?

The foggiest day in Florida still gives you a visibility of about 1 mile (so I have not had the chance to see how well the TL OEM fogs work). Thinking of driving back to Stockton/Sacramento to visit friends so I thought I would see what kind of lights I needed.

I have a 2000 tl with yellow fog lights and I think it just makes your car look more classy. I even have them mounted in the center instead where the fog light holes are and they still look pretty nice especially since I got them wired to come on without the headlights. On the yellow bulb thing, I searched all over the internet for yellow bulbs and ordered some before I got my fog lights and these were supposed to be the best and they only offer a hint of yellow because I put them in my high beams kind of wanting that prev tl look, so film would seem to be necessary.

what kind of material is used to cover the fog lense? Is it just yellow celophane? I've wanted to do it for a long time, but don't know what the material is. Also what is used to glue it on?
