1st off hello !!
im new to the site im sure u can tell !!
ok lets start of with this .i have a 99 tl with 180k miles & i like the car but the tranny is going . my ? to u guys is .is there any other auto tranny i can put in my car . i use this car everyday but i want to play with i a little bit but still keep it auto .if going 6sp is the only way to solve the tranny problem then so be it i will change it but i dont want to do the job myself is there anyone in the ny area that can do the job for me ( im willing to pay ).while im at it what is the best motor swap to put into my car ? trying to do everything at once so if u guys can help me out that would be great .also looking for a good shock & spring set up !!

There are 2 threads on engine swap with CL-S engine and 6 speed MT
thats about your choice if getting away from A/T car-

phee has a thread with long list of parts and prices to check out--its not cheap or easy

the 99 4 speed is a good trans you may have a good local trans shop rebuild-
ONLY if they have done several before--about 2500 to 2800 usd

looking at that,, and much more-- to do a full engine trans change
The car was not designed for it- so lots of cutting and figuring involved

 

we do swaps at my buddies show. but we are located in GA. takes us 2-3 days to complete.

 

not alot of cutting at all. the only cutting done is the cupholder and the spot for the clutch pedal.

no figuring stuff out, everything just falls into place.

i did my swap for under 2500 dollars. (i did the labor myself)

i went through 3 transmissions in 2 years, i was under warranty, but you are not so that adds up to about 6k worth of trannies.

or a swap for about 3500. about 3000 if you keep your engine (this is including labor)

so for 500 bucks more than a rebuild, you have peace of mind and a dramatically faster car than stock

you can keep the TL motor? really? or do I need to wear my glasses~

 

Recently, richiev6 created a module that allows us to keep our auto motor,ec and harness with a fully functioning 6 speed transmission. Jcharged is using it as we speak. I should have mine next week

what is the hp diffrence from my stock 99 tl compared to the 6 speed swap ???????

With a type-s engine and 6 speed swap you are looking at 40-50 more to the wheels. And I you add modifications, the gains are more than an auto would see. I'll call you tommorow afternoon. Fathers day today

? does the accord v 6 tranny fit on my 99 tl 4 door (3.2)

 

should be the same-if his is a 4speed as well..
