XLR8 High Flow Cat!!

We made some updates over the weekend to the website and it included a high flow cat for the 2nd gen CL/TL. We have these in stock and ready to ship.

http://store.excelerateperformance.c.../i-262652.aspx

The XLR8 high flow catalytic converter is a bolt on unit that replaces your restrictive OE unit with a high flow unit made for Excelerate by Random Technology, well know for their high flow and quality cats. It consists of a stainless steel body with 2.5" inlet/outlet, 300 cell metallic substrate, and floating flanges for ease of installation.

XLR8 Performance Exhaust products are designed for function, form and style. Each exhaust part starts with high grade stainless steel. All exhaust tubing is mandrel bent on sophisticated CNC machinery for a precise fit and uninterrupted exhaust flow. Each XLR8 high flow cat consists of a stainless steel body, 300 cell metallic substrate, and floating flanges for ease of installation. The XLR8 high flow cats are manufactured for us to our specifications by Random Technology.

Since 1993, SuperStainless catalytic converters from Random Technology have been setting the standard for high flow, high efficiency catalytic converters. Over the years, improvements in chemistry and metallurgy have enabled Random Tech to continually upgrade catalytic converter performance and durability. As a result, SuperStainess converters with either metal matrix or ceramic cores continue to be the best catalytic converters available.

Yes it has the bung for the O2. It's a bolt on unit and is essentially just a larger version of the RT cat. The RT cat is a great cat with a great quality substrate but the inlet/outlet is too small so we had RT make us a 2.5"IN/OUT cat to increase the flow and take advantage of the larger motor.

if you whole exhaust system is 2.5" but in the middle the cat is 2.25" what do u think happens? bottle-neck; thus you have "untapped" power.

I haven't installed on yet on a car so there's no audio or video clips. We do have them available to ship though today.

In terms of a Groupbuy if we get 5 ppl I will do $305 shipped to the cont US and if we get 10 ppl I will do $295 shipped to the cont US

I'm assuming the gains w/o headers won't be a whole lot, but with headers how much extra HP could be had with this?

There are gains to be had but this cat is really designed for those with aftermarket headers; if you have factory headers get the regular RT cat.

Generally no but I haven't installed one yet. Gains should be in the 7-10 hp range.

You will still see gains; it's just better to have larger piping on the exhaust since that will be your bottle neck.

Im willing to pay the $305 shipped for it with the people we've got now, even though Id prefer $295. Should we put a deadline on the groupbuy?

Yes let's put a deadline. Payments must be received by Wednesday at midnight. Specify what you're ordering and for what car. Send the $295 payment; if we get 8 people to pay I'll do that price. Just make sure all 6 on the list pay and then find 2 more!!! Payment must be made via Paypal to excelerate@sbcglobal.net ; pricing is for shipping to the cont US

Excelerate - I posted over on the CL side, but I was wondering if the length of the cat is exactly the same length as the stock cat.
