WRX IMPREZA vs. TLS (must read)

I'm on interstate 81 south and I am creeping up along side this WRX, it had a huge cannon exhaust, I think it was one of the new wrx's. anyways, I signal him to slow down with me, we slow to about 60, then i drop into 3rd and we are off. I was expecting to get blown out the water but, again I underestimated the power of the S. I pulled on him to about 110 or so then dropped it in 4th, i knew that he would creep on me once i put it in 4th. At 120 he was at my back bumper beside me. thats all i could do. I was shocked that i pulled away from him. so its not a kill kill, but I will take what I can get!!!! Wont these cars crush us off the line?? something like 5.5 sec to 60 or so????

Nice Run. I believe the power of the WRX is off the line because it is so lite. I think above 50 we stand a decent chance against them. Not that I have ever raced one before but don't they have about 220 h.p. So I could see us giving them a run for their money at higher speeds. Just a thought.

Good kill. But yeah, I think he would have had you by a decent margin if it was from standing still, due to its 4WD tranction.

I drove a WRX and was disappointed by the acceleration. It didnt' feel as fast as my TLS but maybe that's because I wasn't really pushing it to the limit (salesman was with me). I drove an S4 a few days later, driving it in much the same manner, and it felt much fast than the WRX and my TLS. On paper, the acceleratino of the WRX and S4 are very similar but according to my "butt-o-meter", the S4 blew it away. I would like to take a WRX home for the night to really try it out on some of the twisty mountain roads around my house. I'm sure it would be much more impressive then.

turbo cars respond to mods very well, just turn that boost up.

Off the line the WRX will eat us for lunch but once you get going they lose steam at the high end.

right...it's just a 2 liter 4 cylinder engine...don't expect it has great high end...

but watch out as the EVO VII and the STI version of WRX are coming late this yr...both with at least 250hp...
