the car was amazingly built? That is, no rattles, tranny problems or bad paint. Would you have paid it? If not, what is the most you would have paid?

Just curious

no, i personally would not have. with the extra 2-3 grand i would have opted for a loaded audi (goin for 35k) instead... if u can pay 33-34 for a TL-S with nav, im sure if u had the extra 2-3 grand ud hit up a nice audi or bimmer

I haven't had any problems with the paint, the tranny problem has nothing to do with the price, IMO....but the squeaks and rattles aren't bad enough to justify a 2-3K increase....maybe 1

I paid 28k for my car over two years ago. I have had the sunroof rattle and the seat creak, both fixed first try. For the price it IS well built. Having said that, I would have gladly paid more for memory seats, trip computer, bi-xenons etc. had they been available.

Sounds like you be hassin' lots of problems.

My ride's been fine....

3 grand more... well, the 3 grand more let me _think_ about getting a different mark, but trying to add in all the options... well, it was way more than 3 grand. Especially if considering comparable engine sizes.

I've thought about this also. I think I would've paid 2k more if the car came with real wood, better tires and wider wheels, less wheel gap, better sunroof controls, voice activated navi, tweeters, etc.

i would be able to justify paying 2-3k more if the car had lets say any where between 350-450 hp stock sc stock kit and exhaust the smg tranny like the bmws doing 0-60 in like 3-4 seconds....then again so would everyone here....
heheh

I shouldn't have to have paid 2-3k more for a car that's rattle-free ..... I believe that 30k is enough to GAURANTEE that ....... had I bought a Dodge Neon then you could have asked me that question ;o(

Agreed.... I would only pay extra for extra features. It should be built right from the beginning at whatever price you paid....

Agree with ya 100 % oh! and samkws ... IMO the Type S should have the Body KIT and COMPTECH Sways included !!!! Maybe not springs since you don't want people scraping their cars and coming back to the dealer.

However, here's a list I would have paid 2-3 K more for.
1. Upgraded stereo. (at least have an option so those who are willing to pay for one).
2. Auto up/down ALL windows. (04 Accord now has window control through keyless entry).
3. Heated seatback in the passenger seat. (try xplaining that to your co-workers who drive other european cars !!! Oh its because of the side airbag... YEAH RIGHT !!! )
4. Bi-Xenon (self leveling) (just for the looks
