Arrow Would This be Possible (audio)

I have a 00' TL. Im looking into pputting a better sub without messing around with the HU and AMP. My freind is giving me his 10" Legacy sub that is 4ohms. Would it be possible for me to take out the connectors from my stock sub and set it up with the aftermarket sub by modding the wires by a little bit? Im not looking for some crazy ass system, but just tell me if this would be possible to do without damaging my system.

you would prob want to change your amp. it most likely wont be strong enough to power the sub

I would recommend not doing that. I tried it in my car and it sounded horrible, I also tried it with an aftermarket amp and aftermarket sub where the stock sub is and it didn't work. The stock system is 2 ohm, not 4, so right away you have half as much bass with the stock amp and aftermarket sub. The rear deck that the speaker sits on isn't strong enough to handle more bass than the stock system. Your best bet is to just leave it alone and put an aftermarket sub and aftermarket amp in the trunk.

like the others said it wont sound good, nor will it work. You need a sealed enclosure for the sub. Plus the oem spot cant handle a large speaker due to the torsion bars being in the way. Your best bet is a afterarket sub/box and amp. The oem amp isnt large enough to power a aftermarket sub
