Wood dash kits

Hi, i have a new '03 TL type-s. One of the very few things i dont like about the car is all the plastic on the dash and trhe console. I've seen some pics of cars with wood around the raio, nav screen, etc but this isnt a dealer option like the wood around the HVAC vents and instrument panel. If you have one of thse aftermarket wood kits, how do you like it? I really want one, but only if it has the appearance that it was put there by the factory (the ones inthe pcs i saw looked very good, but it might not be the same in person)
thanks in advance
tim

I have a 26 piece burl wood trim that was an aftermarket install that the dealer offered. $450 (yea I was jipped) It installed well and I like it alot. My recommendation is to have the dealer do it for you, you may get jipped but if you are like me I had my cup holder cover replaced 2x because it was crooked. I had my rear cup holder trim replaced because the glue came loose. The dealer was very cooperative and made the vendor replaced it to my satisfaction. There are places you can get. I think my vendor got it from Joshua Tree . com

Hey Tim, just in case nobody's mentioned it to ya... this site sells Acura mods for a pretty good price. Just scroll up to the top and click the 'accessories' button.

I bought the "wood" vent trim from here and it looks damn good to me! I also bought a "wood" steering wheel from here. That was about all the wood I could handle.

Later,

V.

Is the steering wheel really made of wood or something else?

I am considering a 2003 TL-S with the black leather interior but I hate the faux black wood. I see there are wood kits but they contain pieces to match the wood trim in an interior not to replace.

What I would like to have is the black interior with the real faux wood trim like the parchment interior has. Does anyone know of a wood kit that covers the existing wood accents not just adds additional. Also does anyone know if those trim pieces can be removed (i.e. could I remove the trim from a parchment interior and install it in a car with black interior)?

i bought the kit off this site. it covers pretty much everything, looks great. there's a few pieces i didnt use, but definitely worth it. i skipped the piece for the sunglass holder, and the rear seat ashtray.

i installed it myself in like 1 hour or less. dealer wanted $700 for the installed kit. i think it was $200 something through this site.

I bought the kit off of ebay....it matches the oem trim almost perfectly...in very bright sunlight you can see very very slight differences...but definitely worth the money.

halveb,
The wood trim on the side doors and center console are just plastic pieces that snap off and on. Ask the Acura dealership's Parts department how much it would cost to get those 6 pieces. If you want a wood steering wheel, you are SOL, unless an older TL black leather/brown wood steering wheel will fit a 2003 model. I also didn't like the cheesy black wood trim and went with parchment, wish I had the idea you have! I would be driving a ABP TL-S right now.

Thanks Mangoboy that is what I was really hoping. I prefer the Black Ebony interior but would go with the Parchment to avoid the black wood. I think the wood pieces would look even nicer against the black too.

Who knows I might even go as far as buying a wood kit if I can swap the real looking fake wood and match it pretty well.
