Exclamation which wire is 12v?

ok i got a hardwire kit and it has a 3m clip that i can clip/snap onto a 14-18 gauge +12v wire. im not very good at this so can someone tell me which wire this might be in and around the fusebox? i have seen the hardwire installs that just put bare wire in with the 30a wiper fuse and this hardwire kit already came with a tip on it so it seemed like it would be cleaner to use the stuff that came with it.

thanks!

well after digging around alot.. i noticed a post about how there are actually 4 spots on the driver side fuse panel (on the inside looking out) that you can plug female spade connectors into. is this better than the 3m clamp / spade connector or the wire / wiper fuse method?

when I hard wired my radar detector I just wrapped the loose end of the positive wire around the post of the wiper fuse (I believe its #33 or #13, I dunno, the manual tells you though) and then plugged the fuse back in, it works fine. The negative wire needs to go around that big bolt to the right of the fuses (search the forums and you'll find pics).

yeah im aware of that method but i saw another post here: http://www..com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1715 on the 'other' forums. I would just rather not cut the spade connector off to fan the wire into the fuse socket.

ideally if anyone knows which wire is a switched 12v in the driver side fuse area that would be best. im curious about this backside of the fuse panel spade idea as well now though.

You can buy the add-a-circuit and even put a fuse for the hardwired item

Try the black wire with the white tracer on the drivers side fuse panel. I believe that is the switce hot that I used for my V1. Do check with a meter to make sure. Good luck.
