Wiper Stalk

So im having issues with my wiper controls on my '03 Tl. The intermittent setting on the switch is the wrong kind of intermittent. (it intermittently works, lol) Im wondering if anyone has ever changed their wiper or light controls before. Is it difficult? I know that steering column related jobs are either easy or difficult, with little middle ground.

Also, while I'm on the subject of wipers, I am on my 3rd pair of wiper blades in a year of owning this car. I cant get the wipers to not 'squeal' or make some kind of horrendous noise when they wipe. Could I just have had bad luck with blades, or is there possibly some deeper issue? Is this common with this car?
Thanks as always!

I'm not sure about the TL specifically, but check this out:

^^ Procedure for some Hondas, so I imagine it'll be quite similar. It doesn't look like it'll be a pain to accomplish so long as you take your time and do everything right.

As far as noisy wiper blades, 3 pairs in a year doesn't sound right. I put some blades on mine when I bought it back in March (because the ones that came with it were noisy), and here it is almost 5 months later and they're still silent as can be.

And how often do you use your wipers? I live in Middle TN and it's fairly rare that I need them. Could it be that you must use them very often?

What brand wipers have you tried? Maybe they're cheap? If not then I honestly don't know what else it could be.

Check the wiper arm's bottom pivot area where it connects to.
Could be loose or maybe the wiper motor linkage rods underneath the cowl, have worn bushings ?

All brands & types of wiper blades I've tried on all 3 of my vehicles seem to wear out faster than they did some years back. Maybe the air just has more grit & grime in it than it use to.

And I don't see where the new style blades like the Bosch Icon really wipe any better or last any longer than the old style types, except for ice/snow buildup on the brackets.

A thing that I've tried is to go a size smaller in width, It seems to me like that wiper blade has to work extremely hard to keep that large windshield cleared off. Worth a try, IMO !!!

If you end up going with a different wiper stalk, PM me, I would like to buy your OEM one if it works. A friend accidentally smacked mine and almost knocked it off, and now the mist feature (pushing down on the stalk) no longer works. Its really more of a nuisance, but if you end up getting a different one, keep me in mind...

I've got a new Acura OEM wiper stalk I bought and then figured out I didn't really need it. It's just been sitting in drawer for a some years, but it's never been installed or used.
PM me if interested and maybe we can work something out.

So the wiper stalk is mounted the same way as the lighting stalk? Convenient. I remember some older cars in which considerable disassembly made this job difficult.

PM Sent...

Also, the wiper stalk is very simple to replace, its connected to the steering column with some screws and has a harness...
