Winter Car?
Winter Car?
I'm planning on getting my car repainted and slightly lowered and a 2gb TSi front and rear bumper. For those of you that don't know, im talking about a 97-98 Talon. The bumpers are more aggresive then the 95-96 and are a bit lower and since I live in New England, and its gonna be repainted, the last thing I want is a broken 350 dollar bumper thats hard enough to find as it is, or a ruined paint job. Here is an example of what the car looks like

Ok so back onto topic (sorry I like to talk and talk lol) I want a good winter car, fwd or awd, that will be peppy and quick, so I remember when my dad has his 2gb TL-P, nice car and its alot nicer of a winter beater then some broke ass civic. So it really comes down to if I want to have monthy car payments which I'm thinking would be like 250 a month? The advantage is I can take the car off and just pay 250 a month, and the Talon is being completed in September and never getting modded again after its done and thats all getting paid for in cash. So I just wanted your input on what you guys feel would be a good car for winter, Sorry again for making a simple question into the story of my life but im very talkative lol. Another thing is if you guys have a winter beater, let me know what it is. Like I said all I care is that its reliable, nice, fwd/awd and it can be auto or stick, no preference in that. Oh and please if your going to tell me that a car with about 210whp is too much for me to handle because I'm a new driver, just leave the thread and don't bother posting, I don't want to get into any arguements and if it counts for anything, I am smart enough to have the Talon detuned as much as possible once its done so It will only be in the 230awhp area for the fall and after winter is over and I park the beater, it will be street tuned to a hopefull 320-350awhp. Thanks for your time in reading my story

I wouldn't suggest a TL for a winter beater, simply for economical reasons. The TL uses premium gas and isn't really that great on gas within the city. Plus I find fuel economy in the winter to be the worst when compared to the other seasons. Just my
