windshield wiper problems

the wipers on my 2002 tl are wore out with 78,000 miles-they over extend on both ends of the travel and sound as if they are tearing themselves to peices. has nearly drove me crazy on rainey days--Surely someone out there has had this problem --let me know -thanks david

go to the auto parts store and ask for the right size. i believe its a 19 and 21 that u need. i have bosch icons on my tl and cl and love them. never let me down and do a great job every time. only wipers that will be on any of my cars.

where you live do you get snow cause it sounds like you use your wipers to clear the snow off your windshield, which is a big NO-NO

I don't know how much of a difference the 02-03 is from the 99 but mine takes 19 and 24. I've got the Rain-X Latitudes on my TL. They look just like the Bosch Icons.

take your wipers off and the cowl...white round link retainer or whatever you want to call it most likely broke and popped off..happened to mine..you can get new ones for a couple bucks from your local auto parts store.

Here's a good link on how to replace the worn out bushing that's causing your wipers to over extend.
