Window vent visors **PICS**

Ahhh! Yes I did it again!! As all you guys know Im very intuitive when it comes to the car. Since getting a hold of Inspire vent shades is very difficult and time consuming, I decided to give the 98-02 4dr Accord ventshades a try. I measured my sister's 99 accord when I went to visit her. They both came in very close. But the way the ventshade was made, it made it somewhat off. $40 from ebay wasn't too bad, but it will serve its function here in TX.
I will remind you here that you will need to trim all 4 shades.

Front Problem
The vent visor will stick out past the mirror.

The easiest way to trim it, is to align everything. Using a maglite, I used it as a guide so I can see through and make a straight edge out of the tape. After you see it straight, take the vent out and cut it along the straight line.

Rear Problem
The vent visor curves down the 3rd lil window.

Use the same technique as above and trim it off. Use the tape and magllite to line it up.

The finish
I forgot to take the tape off. When you cut the ventshades, get some real sharp scissors. Use a single stroke and cut it all the way accross. Dont cut a bit here then move etc etc. This will chip some of the acryllic. Follow the instructions when cleaning itt and applying to the doors. Very little wind noise on the highway, since the front was cut. But not too bad.

Nice mod!

Definitely unique to see a TL with Sparco racing seats. I'm more of a Recaro fan, myself ...

Can't open your pics either . Tired of water drop'in down right on the power window switches.
Last time I was at the dealer , I went over to the parts dept. to pick up a set of these and was
supprised when told that they don't make window visors for the TL . Good idea , might try the
accord ones ta see how they look.

I would buy them but they are outrageous in pricing. I'll try my luck with a $40 set and modify it.

well, JDM rainguards are made to fit perfectly, they grasp the outter rubber from the window and they are also held by 3M tape, and a few bolts.

The look is stylish and slick. I love 'em.

Could you please send me some close up pics of the areas you had to trim. I refuse to pay $209.78 for JDM visors. I can't believe nobody makes a set of 4 visors for the TL. I am going to order a set of Accord visors and do what you did. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Mike (lewarkmd@yahoo.com)

i paid 152 shipped, and again the main reason I decided to spend more money is because they have a very nice slick continuous look.

is ride quieter with visors

hello there. i was wondering if the ride is quieter with the visors (less wind noise) when on the freeway. my 1999 tl is alot louder from the inside cabin than what i was used to with my gs300 previously.

im hoping that i can reduce the noise so that when im having a telephone conversation, it doesnt sound like im in a moving vehicle.

thanks
bryan

most of the noise from the tl is road noise. they changed mirrors in 002-03 to help reduce a little wind noise too. i doubt the fisors are going to do any thing for window up driving

Haha exactly what I thought would be a nice addition when a storm hit a week-ish ago. But 50 bucks just for the front... man... no $ for expensive plastic! mmm wonder if there are cheaper alternatives on ebay?

edit: aww damn just checked on ebay and only found the moonroof visor for 45+s/h. boo.
