Window Tinting?

I am thinking about tinting my TL. The standard tint does not block out much sun or heat.

Anyone have any advice regarding what kind of tint to get?

Does it affect the stereo antenna in the window?

Those that have done it, how much should I expect to pay?

Thanks for the help...

Hey,

Both my Dad and I have TL's and we both have the windows tinted. He did darkest legal, which in FL, I think is like 35% on the front and something a little darker in back. There's a link on here to check that in FAQ. Anyway, I went with 20% all around which is illegal, and I paid 160 for it. I definitely recommend the darker tint, and even 15% might be better. Unfortunately the tinter talked me out of it. I think the brand they used was Llumar or the other popular one (I think it starts with an S), and they went over the dot matrix. On my Dad's they didn't go over it, and I don't think it looks as good. I hope this helps and if you have any questions email me at Ryan2183 @aol.com

on mine they didn't have the tint go over the dot matrix, but they used I think black vinyl sticker to cover that up. I got 20% all around. That way your rear windshield looks "normal" instead of like a spot is left out...

I just got Lluminar Platinum 35% all around on my SSM TL-S. Looks really nice and matches the silver very well.

Lluminar is metallic tint so it'll last (I had metallic tint on a '89 Jeep Cherokee and it lasted 12 yrs without fading, cracking, bubbling or peeling) and they offer a Lifetime warranty with proper care (just soap and water cleaning).

For Florida tint is a necessity, I was going to get 35% front and 20% rear but the 20% was just so reflective I know I'd get pulled over to check it.

Paid $200 but the tint company did an excellent job. I can finally roll down my windows tomorrow.
