I'm from the Portland area but would be willing to go up to your area for a great price!!

I own a 2004 TL and I believe it has a 35% tint on it but I would like to go darker... maybe 15-20% I recently was quoted for $325. I just would like to know if that is a fair price because the tint shop I called told me that it would cost me $100 to take off the tint that's currently on the windows and then the rest for the new stuff.

Is that a good price? Or should I look elsewhere?

there is still the 3 or so inches on the top of the back window. of that dot matrix stuff. that i actually think is the antenna for the navi that is not tinted. im going to spray that out with a spray that my tinter recomended. i just have to do alot of masking and covering. you can see the strip in the top 2 pictures

i have seen it sprayed out and it looks beautiful. i think it looks much better than tint on it. i have seen many that have a great job tinting the dot matrix but it looks so much better sprayed out. ill take pics when i get it done.

he has the tech package and it is incredible. i wish they had that back in 2000. The RL makes my car look like something from a junk yard and my 2000 only has 28,000 miles on it.

he wants to get the tint done and the guy that did my tint did a great job but with all the electronics in the side panels of the doors my dad is really hesitant to have it done. and he doesnt want a panels-on application of the tint done. but he doesnt want the panels off. so he is going to talk to the acura dealer about who they recomend. he has a black interior so it almost looks tinted as is. but when he gets it done he will prob get 35% all around. with how it looks without tint i think it will look like 15%.

the shop is cool window tints. its in tacoma/lakewood area just off south tacoma way on stillacuum bulivard. i know those are both spelt wrong but im kinda drunk so excuse me. the name sounds cheasy and cheap but the guy is great. one man shop and his shop doesnt has a speck of dirt or dust in it. my tint is still drying but it looks incredible.

Looks good. Good Job but damn!!! you payed over $200 for those tints. I got 14% all around and i payed $135 and the guy that did mine does all the cars from one of the near by dealerships. He does good work but there is no way i would pay over $200 for tints.

all the shops in the area are around more than 200. this area is expencive. there are a few shops around here that are like 150 but i would not trust taking it there.

All the quotes I've received from tint shops have been over $200. I was quoted for $225 (+ $100 to remove the current tint) so, right now I'm really debating if I should even get darker tint... for $325.... I don't think it's gonna happen.

i just got my tint done also and they didnt tint the last 6 inches of the top edge of the back window.

will the tint really effect the nav that much??

i think it looks very tacky. i wouldnt think a thin film would harm anything.

if it is a metalized tint then yes it will. but you can spray it out quite easly. just takes some time. there is a spray that my tinter uses and im going to get some off of him. ill find out what it is. then you mask everything so that you get no over spray and then spray it very lightly several times. letting it dry each time. i just got to open my windows for the first time a few days ago. so ill prob spray out that top 3 inches this week ill put up some pics of the proccess and the finished product when im done.

NEWB here... first post to boot.

I just got a Black '03 TL and have an appointment with a tinter the day after tomorrow. He told me that Oregon law says that 35% is the darkest you can get on a passenger car. I just read the statute and it looks like he's right. If I want darker tint do I have to go to a shadier installer?

ask him to do it without a recipt. or you will go somewhere else. they just dont want to get in trouble. anywhere should do it w/o recipt. just ask.

If you get 20% all around with no reciept (since it's illegal)...then what happens if the tint starts to fade or anything like that? How would you get them to redo it for you for free if you don't have evidence that you got tint from them?
