Will the blower motor sub-harness fix this?

So this is what the connection to my blower motor looks like, I know it needs to be replaced, but will getting the sub-harness fix this? I just want to make sure I'm not wasting money on the sub-harness if that alone won't fix it.

The lead into the blower motor looks the same as the connection.

No idea, one day I heard a pop and the air quit blowing. It's starting to get cold now so I really need my heat. I just hope I don't have to a new motor...

cut and strip the two wires that go to the motor and solder/tape them directly to the correct terminals on the motor, (make sure power to the motor is off and clean the terminals of the motor).

then turn the fan on, if the motor doesnt blow air than the motor is toast.

also check to see if a fuse has been blown.

you have a bad wire some where creating a shit load of resistance for it to burn up like that. . . . you might just trash the new harness/motor if you plug it in and walk away. . .

Id actually do some searching around and see what caused it to begin with before just swapping out components

I think there's also a transistor for the motor that sometimes goes belly up.

That's what mine looked like when I replaced it 6 months ago and so far so good (it was like $20). Also, as totaledTL said, the transistor sometimes goes up and that is around $80 at the dealer as well.

Ok, so I just went to get the sub-harness and got it all wired up. Come to find out that it won't fit into the connection to the motor being that it is melted a little too. Do you guys think I think a new motor too? Here's a picture of what the connection to the motor looks like.

being that melted i would say it would not hurt to get a new motor, also how you wire up the sub harness (do you just mean that extension harness one??) cause i thought that just plugged into the factory harness

Yeah I wired up the extension one. That connector in the first pic is what connects in there in the second pic. And the new connection doesn't fit in all the way

so you hardwired that extension one in (like cut off the melted connected and soldered it in)(for the wiring itself)

but as far as the fan motor goes you might be able to get a file or something in there to smooth it out, but considering how melted that terminal looks, who knows what else is melted inside of the blower motor itself, so proably be worth it to just get a new motor and be done with it

If you don't get a good connection on that burnt one you could have high resistance at high current level (fan on high) and the same thing will happen again. Can you disassemble the motor to replace that terminal?

My air has been blowing on and off for the past few months, and just recently its been doing it more. I would have to reach under the glove compartment and wiggle a wire and it would come right back on.

Yesterday, I smelled something bad (burnt plastic/wire smell) and the air shut off, and now NOTHING that I do is allowing the air to blow.

I looked underneath and can see the sub harness that attached into the blower itself. My question is, how do I get the sub harness out of the blower? It seems like it is in there tight, and I don't want to force it out. Does it come out with a plyers, or something similar? I noticed there is a little plastic piece I can snap down which seems like it would loosen up, but it hasn't.

Any and all help is needed. I want to take it out and look at it, and the connector inside the blower to determine it is exactly that before I buy the new sub harness.

Please help!!!

Its just a clip. Push the tab down and pull. Odds are its melted some. If its melted odds are its the motor that caused the melting. I replaced my harness once only to happen again, this time the motor stopped working as well. If the clips are melting the motor is causing too much draw.

So need to replace motor? Replaced blower fan resistor with another from you pull for nothing. Blower do not work at any temperature setting. As I understand from internet if is control set at 60F resistor should be bypassed. Blower worked on off for a week. I can not pull off wire harness at blower motor, it is like glued there. I guess problem is there. What hell is updated harness for this?

Fixed. It was burned harness. Didn't replace motor but have another harness and motor for backup.
