wierd problems while driving

Hi, I have a 2000 TL and had the tranny replaced once. Whats happening now is that it seems like the car is hesitating to shift, and when it does, it kinda kicks. I did however notice a little power loss. Before the tranny change, the car seemed to fly. Now the car doesn't fly so fast. Kinda hard to describe, it feels like it "hangs" before the shifting. Is this normal? My girl also notices gassy smells (not from me) from the cabin. Any thoughts on this?

How long ago was the tranny replaced? You might be looking at another one.

Same problem

Hey there,
I have the same problem and the damn dealership keeps telling me everything is fine, yet I know they have had to reset the computer because of tranny codes. I am getting sick of this. I did the recall of the oil jet and the tranny still kicks mainly between 1st and second. Sometimes it even delays shifting and lacks power at times. Let me know if u find anything out and I will do the same as well.

I haven't informed the dealer yet. But each dealer is different so I'll give them a shot. Is it safe to travel 250 miles this weekend you guys think?

ive had that problem when i first got it.. Ive driven a 03TL, but i own a 99TL. The 03 is not the Type-S but it seems to be alot quicker and the shifting of the gears seem to be smooth and subtle, while on mine it seems to have a little lag before it kicks into the next. I personally dont get what's going on but i didn't think it was a problem til i read what zerovandez wrote.

I dont really know if its safe or not, but even with this lagging of the shifts, i took my car up to Belleayre ski resort last weekend to go snowboarding and it was fine.. the drive was about 120miles one way.. then another 120 back. i racked about 1000 miles since ive noticed the car getting slow shifts and its still the same. I took it to the mechanics but all he found was something weird with my catalyst convertor which doesnt really have to do anything with the tranny.. oyeah and i never got my tranny replaced, i dont have a recall on my VIN. i have about 68000 miles on my car too.

My invoice for the tranny showed a new computer. The mechanic said that the new tranny's are coming with a new compouter which is slightly different. Just got mine back last night. Haven't notice too much of a difference from before it started to fail.
