Why was I banned?

Why was I banned from this forum. I never cursed or attacked anyone.

I had to get around the system to get back in.

Gee, I wonder why you were banned???? If I were you, I would keep my mouth shut and start posting useful info and to support the board. Stop wasting bandwidth with your useless posts and whines.

I'm trying to post useful information but whenever I do it either:
1. Gets removed
2. Gets closed
3. Get edited
4. Get's slammed
5. Moderators really push you around on here.

Well, if I remembered correctly, you had posted something like Acura is a POS and nothing else. What do you expect from an Acura site? And after that, you kept on posting like why was my post closed or removed and such...... Dude, sorry to say but it seems like you just want attention. Like I said before, start contributing or don't post at all.

Actually that post was in response to another post being attacked on several threads where several members were discussing problems with their Acura's. I was upset and apologized but it doesn't matter now.

I did finally figure something out though.

Remember the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld(?sp).

Question: Where did he go after the sitcom ended?

Answer: He's an Acura-TL moderator:p

Hmm, someone is just beggin' to be banned again. Hammerton, no offense intended, but do you really think it's wise to dis people and not expect them to respond to your dissing with some more dissing and maybe a little banning on top of it? Dis moderator may take offense at your last post here.

You must have terrible trouble talking with cops too.

Man, you guys are lucky, the mods on here are pretty relaxed compared to the CL board. They let a lot of stuff go... and you still complain. Heck, this topic would've been closed already. If you were banned, I'm sure there's a reason for it b/c people don't get banned often. If you really were banned, why would you come in here and post that you worked around the system to get in?? If you wanted to post a topic like this....why would you post it in the TL-S forum?? Doesn't make sense.

Oh and usually Moderators don't have the ability to ban people, it comes from the Admins. It could be different here, but that's usually how it works. When you signed up you agreed to terms and conditions. If you're not sticking to them, then that's why posts are being closed, etc. Don't whine about it... go back and re-read those conditions which you agreed to, then start following them.

A bit of civility goes a long way

Hammerton:

I am no stranger on this Forum in terms of sometimes having to voice an opinion not shared by others, usually based on unhysterical and documented fact, and I will call them as I see them. And I have been "attacked" now and then, although from my point of view they were just childish or uninformed rants by someone who realized they were losing in the court of thought, and needed to lash out to retain some semblance of ego.

Yet, I like to think I have some supporters here because:

1) I do not rant
2) I give back far more than I get (that is, I post info far more than I ask for it)
3) I retain some civility and grace under pressure.
4) I admit when I am wrong
5) I try to retain a sense of humor

You do not - you appear combative and argumentative - perhaps elevating the depth of your responses rather than your voice might better serve you.

I for one would suggest to the Moderators that you be given a chance to re-consider your Forum "personna" and rejoin us.

1) Everyone who frequents the board is already aware of all your problems and complaints, as you've posted them numerous times before.

2) With the exception of the steering rack problem, every problem you've shared is known and experienced by others.

3) No one on the board has answers to the brake rotor or transmission problems yet - but when Acura makes an “official” determination you know it will be discussed on the site at length (with or without your presence).

4) Member solutions to finding and eliminating squeaks and rattles has been discussed and can be found by doing a search. Some may not be correctable - continuously complaining about them is an exercise in futility.

5) No one is questioning that you believe you've had a bad experience with Acura and that to a large extent you regret your purchase. Once you've made your feelings known, what do you expect those on the board to do to help you?

6) There's a small number of people on the board that are as disappointed with there car as you are. I have two Acura's (an MDX and TL-S) and am happy with both. Do you want me to "hate" Acura because you're one of the unfortunate few that have had a bad experience?

7) People that aren't regular visitors to the board can easily mistake your rantings as the "norm" and could get the impression that Acura is a bad company producing shoddy cars. Without doubt there have been some issues, but none that are really severe or have occurred in large quantity. I post counterpoint responses to a number of your posts because - A) I haven't had the bad experiences you have, and B) I don't want the resale value of my car(s) tanked because of negative gossip your posts could easily start.

8) I have never seen the mods or admins on this sight go after someone who is being constructive - even if there contributions were somewhat negative to the cars, a dealer, or Acura.

9) Bottom line – play nice, be constructive, and don’t belabor your points and issues and no one will go after you. If you let this whole thing blow over instead of beating it to death no one will even remember it happened.

I highly applaud your response. It was professional, mature and exactly what this sight needs. I actually have received a lot of valuable information in the short time I have been here and I am not always down on my Acura.

Thank You,

this board has mods that will go ahead and take upon themselves to edit other people's posts if they don't like what they are saying. But instead of just editing it, they edit in order to try to make the original poster look stupid only to make the mod themselves look like the childish one.

same thing will happen to this post...........just watch

Funny thing is, none of my posts have ever been edited.

Plus some posters don't need any help to sound stupid or childish.

I've never had my posts edited or deleted. After reading about what happened to hammerton, I get the feeling I may have been lucky on some occasions.

I know I tend to get into some heated exchanges with people, but I want the majority of my posts to be entertaining, interesting and helpful to those who are interested in getting a TL or other Acura. In all honesty, I do intend for some of my posts to be controversial and challenging...especially when I'm responding to people who make unfounded or ignorant comments. I'm one of those people who when confronted with jerks in life; I usually call them out for acting like jerks.

I enjoy this site quite a bit. I feel like I'm one of the more opinionated Acura enthusiasts on here, but I'm by no means an expert on anything technical or mechanical.

My sincere thanks to the moderators for all their hard work, and of course thanks for letting me express myself during the course of the last year on this site.

I agree, but unfortunately, many people take themselves and comments on this site a little too seriously.

Relax everyone.

Ok, here goes. I have no idea who this hammerton guy is as I just got back here from a little vacation. If you were banned, I am sure it was for good reason as people rarely ever get banned here. Also, mods cannot ban. So, a lot of people must have complained about you to one of the admins and then the admin banned you. If you have a problem with a moderator please use PM or e-mail, do not use the public forum. Thank you.

Nuwter, I don't know about edited posts. If you attack a member then usually the post will be deleted. If an entire thread is going bad then it will be locked, and if the thread is just trash then it will be deleted.

End of story. If you have a specific problem with a mod or admin, use PM or e-mail. All further such threads on the public board will be deleted.

This post was directed at me and locked before I could reply, but I thought the following would make interesting material, a similar reply to this same exact thread he posted in OT, but many members here may not go there. He just doesnt quit. .

No one on this site is banned wiithout approval from the Administrators or owner of the site. Hmmm what if all involved approved????

I wasnt even the one who recommended his banning, so hes barking up the wrong tree with his hostility and pot shots at me

Your TL POS posts were not why they were edited/deleted, your flameas of others in those posts were 50% the reason you were banned, the other half was due to your spamming of the TL-S AND TL forums repreatedly despite being asked to stop. Sorry man, but you have to follow the rules here also.

Also sending me emails stating and I quote word for word in reference to you stating you would get around the banning and still post by trying to ge around the banning.

"By blocking me you could really cause someone to stir up trouble.........................I might consider it worth my while to jump hoops but I will make it miserable for you if I do.

Reinstate me and I call it even..................."

Yup this guy really belongs here and he wonders why many here dont like him?
