Question why fluted?

just wanted to know why honda/acura decided to use fluted for the 99-01 and not just reflective?

just always wondered why not reflective.is there any advantage to doing it that way?

I guess fluted was used to control the beam, but you will lose the brightness.

I guess it didn't work out too well with fluted design. the design then changed on the reflective cone.

yes!! --lets all wildly guess what acura was thinking `more than a decade ago` when the styling cues of other cars determined features (same as it does today)

cant tell one car from another in most cases,, except the tiny things like fluted lenses

the technology of HID lighting was still in the early stages and as knowledge was gained parts changed

Plus it breaks cars into 2-3 year sections of a gen, sometimes to fight parts interchange Cuts down on stolen cars/parts when limited use instead of `fits 7 years`--kiss your headlights goodbye one night if that were the case!

those are my best guesses for now
