who's driving their car in the winter?

I was thinking of not driving my car in the winter but i don't feel like getting a shit box and having it brake down on me in the midle of winter.
So i'm gonna rust proof it get my self some winter tires and hopefully my car will still look like new next year.(i'm obssesed with keeping my car like new inside out)

My car is driven no matter the weather. It's my only car so I really have no choice. I've driven through every type of weather in the TL-S, and I have to say it's fairly average in the snow and other inclement conditions. I don't even go with winter tires; my Continentals are fine in wet weather.

Live on Long Island, NY and drive it all winter through a foot of snow.....got a 99 TL and it actually handles really well...the TCS really helps out...does quite better then my moms mercedes which sucks in the winter.

ps...this is the first year it will be out of a garage....we will see how it goes

All you need is four real snow tires, not all-season $hits.

I feel the same about buying it to drive it....but a vette! Don't know if I could drive one of those year round. I think I would get tired of the ride to be honest with you.

I had the same question. I am moving from Texas to Virginia. I don't think it snows much in Virginia but I will have to wait and see. I may not even get winter tires.

It wouldnt be my daily car, but i would take it out. Sittind and wasting away isnt what i buy cars for.

a small amount of snow a year or alot, Snow tires do make a huge difference.

I drive my car year round as well, it's not my only car, buy sure does a LOT better in the snow then the 400hp CRXs do! With the A/S tires on there, the TL really does pretty good.

I've never even driven in the rain since I bought her, much less the snow. She sits all winter. It's just not worth it

This will be my first FULL winter with it. My snowies are ready. I just need to raise the car by 2 inches. I don't think rust proof would be necessary though. Just wash the car once a week. You're from Montreal too right? There's this place near Papineau where it's a hot water self wash for 2$. I go there all the time in the winter to wash my car. Wash underneath the car and the wheel wells thoroughly.

Rust proofing the underneath of the car is good only if applied properly. Otherwise the thick tar like substance will trap salt and speed up the rusting process.

Agreed. ive seen in most cases it causes things to rust out faster. That and if you ever need to have serious body work its very hard to get every thing sealed up properly again so that it doesnt trap salt and moisture

No,i've driven a 96 convertable with winters on and i couldn't even get out of the driveway cause it's on a slope so the tires wheir just spining and the back end was going left and right. Was a bitch.
