I saw the same car at 39th street and 14th Ave in Brooklyn in front of a collision shop on my way to work and was like damn. They ripped up the hood and everything around it.

I don't understand it...What is the deal with headlight stealing on TL's? Seen threads titled about it, but never bothered to figure out why

i think because the expensive HID system is easy to steal on our cars. easier than the rest besides the maxima

TLs and Maximas are the only cars that could have their headlights yanked out with little effort and without opening the hood. Stupid design. Put a little blinking blue led in your headlight to make them think you got those anti-headlight theft system aka alarm system. They'll look elsewhere. LOL

Maximas had a recall on the headlamps though. the dealer puts in a headlamp bracket if you bring it in. soooo.. tl's are the only cars with problems now.

mine almost got stolen twice in newark, but good thing i got there on time before they ripped the whole thing out. i still have marks all around the headlamps, hood, and grill

Just install a 2-way alarm system. It scares thieves away. They rather not risk getting caught. They rather walk down a block and pry open a non protected TL... Think about it. A 2-way alarm is like around 500$ installed, headlight/hood repair is 3Gs. Do the math. Heck you might even get a discount from your insurance for installing an alarm! lol!

I also own a 2002 Maxima SE, it does come with HID. I'm glad I live in Cleveland so my lights don't get jacked.

Dude, it's not for nothing that everyone say TLs and Maximas get their HIDs jacked the most. You might be right that porsches are easy to steal too. But for every 4 TL/Maxima, you would see one porsche. There are so many more maximas and TLs than porsches on the streets. I came accross this article that was talking about TLs and Maximas being famous getting their headlights stolen, but i can't find it anymore. I'll let you guys know if i ever come accross it again.

I should just park my car in the middle of brooklyn in a dimly lit space, and crouch on a rooftop with a shotgun and wait! Bastards.....

Rooftop to street is kind of a long shot for a shotgun. Plus you might do some real damage to your car, what with the pellets spreading out. I recommend a rifle with a night scope.

if the thief is good enough to take the headlights so cleanly i'm sure he's smart enough to eliminate any trace or doubt by selling online....he prob just made that account

+1 for the thief

I just clicked on ' ask seller a question' button on that auction asking where those lights are from and if they are from his car. also his contact info including phone# and name.
I am not that bored, but when I see some thieves stealing goods from others, it just makes me real mad.
