so my freind and i have always been competitive, and once i got my 1999 tl, all he talks about is racing me, now he is so POSTIVE thta he will beat me, but i also know thta he can be very full of himseld at times, and since there is money on the table i dont wanna race if i cant wbeat him, how good of a chance do you think i will have against a stock 94 accord 4 banger thats been beat pretty bad and has 260,000 miles, now i think that just the fact that my engine is biiger and i have so much more horse power i can win but he says that "he can win a race with any car, that it all depends on the driver" witch is true to an extent but ina drag race, i dont think that he could win. but i wanna know your opiions.

Wait wait...stock as in BODY wise? or both? Check the engine, you don't know, it may look stock but perhaps he has a swapped engine from another accord, in which case, may be able to take you. ALSO, if you're not putting the required premium fuel in, he has a chance, even if he is fully stock, since downgrading your fuel cuts your performance by 12-15% and even up to 20%.


But he sounds like a total moron ( no offense) if he's cool because of one sub...but just incase he's a bit smarter than he let on

nah i was with him when he bought the car for 900$ lol, and i def use premuim! hellz yea,lol,down here its not that expenstive, i filled the car today for 3.19 a gal. but reg is cheap now only 2.79. came down alot sicne it was 3.12 lol. owell, oh and yea he is a compleate moron! lol

im beging to think that the guy who owend the car before my dad(for like a year) modded the car in some way, couse this moring i woke up early and asked my one frind to take my car to his dads dyno(he wanted to be gay and not let me come lol) but anyway, he said i was cranking about 238 hp and the only engine mod i have done is the cold air, the rest are cosmetic mods,but i do tune it regularly and change the oil every 3k miles. so maybee he replased something couse i shouldnt be pulling those numbers semi-stock. but still kick ass lol. and i also did just get a tune up/new tranny/new brakes/new tires, but that shouldnt affect my hp, owell its preetty kool, oh and on the subject of my freind, i bet he thinks if he puts premuim in his car it might actualy do somthing, lol, couse isioursly doubt it.

Him, beat you? 94' Accord Vs. 99TL-p. It won't even be a race. Not a fair one anyway. But if he's talking a lot of trash, he deserves to be shut up. Be safe whatever you do.

 

99 TL-Ps with CAI don't put 238hp to the pavement. Something is wrong there, and likely it's something wrong with the dyno.

A 94 Accord EX has 145hp from a 2.2L I4. You will easily beat this.

yea i know, i dont understand i t eather, he said that was the average of the 3 runs he did. but still. ima have to ask my dad maybee the guy who bought the car orginaly change the headers or somthing like that couse i wouldnt be able to tell if they were changed since idont know what the stock one look like., or his dyno is just GAY. lol

 

Something is wrong with his dyno. I've seen a dyno on a 99 TL-P that showed it was putting down about 169hp to the pavement. You're talking about almost 70 more WHP over stock. Headers won't do that, neither will exhaust, or CAI - and even altogether won't do that. Hell, come to think of it, even a supercharger won't do 70whp alone.

wow i didnt know thats how dynos worked i thought it just mesured relguare hp, guess his dyno is fucked. lol. unless hes doing somthing diff owell ill have to ask,eh ima noob so im not sure what all the lingo is yet. also what do you mean by hp putting down to the pavment, how is this diifent from my 225 hp? if you could explian id like that.

the 225 that your car has stock is measured at the fly wheel, to the pavement or WHP is wheel horse power which is what the car is putting to the wheels/pavement. and to go along with everyone else your car will KILL him, its not even a race. My girlfriend has a 94 accord ex and it is slow as shit and has about 120k less miles than his car... like I said her car is SLOW my 99 blazer would blow its doors off. hope that helps.
Edit: the fly wheel is the way car manufacturs use to measure hp.

as much as i posibly can lol, but we havnet worked all that out yet. and im not worried about him stalling anyway, he doesnt have a job so he cant get any parts for his car, and god knows his parents wont give him crap. so ill just wait.lol,i think maybe hes starting to think about this a lttle haha.
