I leave it off unless there is something really bright behind me... so unless I actually need it.

Mine defaults to on. Is there a way to default it to off?

Unless you do some electrical work, nope.

I just hate the bright ass light when it is on (green noless), but I've never had a car behind me so bright I needed it on. Worst case is the side view mirrors, but if that is too bright I put the window up.

I started to turn mine off now after my first one died. It was replaced under warranty. The first one was left on ALL the time.

I never really cared, but after I dropped the car, I'm still checking to see if it's on. Those SUV's are really blinding, even with tints and the auto dimming on.

If you're checking for cops in your rearview mirror, I think it's a little too late

I wish it didnt default to always being on, cuz I have my rear window tinted, so I dont like it being on at night, but its annoyign to keep switching it off everytime you get back in the car. If there is a way to do this, then someone let me know.

That don't seem right. When I start my car, the mirror always defaults to the mode I last had it in. Thus, it only defaults to on in the mornings when I forget to turn it off the night before.

My damn parking pass covers up the sensor, so it always dims during the day.... I turn it off. By switching it every day, that wont cause it to fail on me sooner will it? I just had a new one put in not long ago.
