Im guessing you got a CEL with code showing as TCC?
codes are CLUES not a diagnosis in themselves (most times)
what the story on your atf changes- is it on dw1 now?
any slippage problems or other weirdness in shifting?

yes i got a p0740 code and as far as slippage it only happens if the engine is still cold but once its at operating temperature it shifts fine but my problem is now that once its at operating temperature when i come to a stop at a light, stop or to park it shuts off on me and also when im parking and i switch between drive and reverse it also shuts off when it engages into gear

P0740 = Problem in Tranny Lock-up Control System

~ Make sure that the motor is running properly first
~ Check fluid level and condition, Do a D & F with DW1
~ Have the tranny's hydraulic pressure measured
~ Clean or replace the lock-up control solenoid assembly set
~ Same with the A/T lock-up clutch pressure control solenoid valve
~ Clear the codes from the PCM and see if they come back again

The trans fluid and flush was change about 20k miles ago before I bought the car it was done at one of those car wash/ oil change place so I'm guessing they put any trans fluid they have and yes I was looking for a diy and pics of the solenoid cause I did search and I saw that cleaning it would temporary fix the problem but the links I saw didn't show the same solenoid I saw on Hondapartsunlimited.com

Try doing some searching on the "P0740" code and the lock-up control solenoids.
If I recall right, the solenoid set is located on top of the tranny under the TB boot, behind the battery. You can try pulling the cover plate and then clean the screens under the tubes inside. The middle one tends to get gunked up worse. Do only one at a time and be careful of the gasket.

May want to do a D & F using Honda DW1 fluid and check the tranny pan's magnetic drain plug for residue.
Also replace the top inline ATF filter while in the area of the linear solenoid set.

Junk yard fix

I went to the local upull and grabbed the solenoid pack from an 02 Accord 3.0l v6 Donner car. It will bolt right up. Before the swap I was getting the P0740 code every 150 or so miles. After the swap, It's been over 2000 miles and no code.

By the way neither the solenoid from the Accord or my TL has a screen on it???

Was that the linear solenoid pack right on top of the tranny under the TB tube, right behind the battery ? If so, then once the top cover is removed....there are tubes which can be pulled out to expose their individual screens at the bottom of each tube.

Yes it was. I will have a look at the old one and see what I can find.
